FoodHack Vienna: The Shape of Food to Come

OCT6
18:30 · Europe / Vienna

About this event

Part of the Popchop Vienna Future Food Week.
How will we eat in ten years? Founders, researchers and investors discuss how our food and the systems behind it will change over the long run: which trends will last, where the money is going, and what will actually end up on our plates.
Whether you are building a food startup, doing research, investing, or simply care about where food is heading, this evening is for you.
On the panel
Dr. Philipp Lawrence Fuhrmann, Postdoc at the Institute of Food Science, BOKU. He researches food structure, texture and sensory perception, with a focus on plant-based products.
David Petuzzi, CEO of Revo Foods, the Vienna-based food tech company behind 3D-printed plant-based seafood.
Markus Linder, Founder & CEO of inoqo, the Vienna-based impact tech company making the climate and biodiversity footprint of food transparent for consumers and brands. Previously co-founder of Zoovu, and an early-stage impact investor.
Carina Roth, Partner at Fund F, the Vienna-based early-stage VC with a growing food tech portfolio.
Moderated by Bernhard Grabner and Gregor Tegl, FoodHack Vienna.
The evening
A 45-minute panel followed by Q&A with the room. As always at FoodHack, there is an optional 30-second pitch slot: launching something, hiring, or looking for your next role? Take the mic. Afterwards: drinks and time to talk.

38. Google Cloud Meetup

weXelerate, Vienna, Austria · Google Cloud Meetup Vienna
In person

This event is free of charge and only takes place on-site! Language of the Meetup: ENGLISH 🇬🇧 Talk #1: Call center audio analytics: Hours of sensitive customer calls, turned into insights - with sovereign and private AI [Georg Heiler, Danilo Labanca] The most valuable data in a telco is the data you are least free to send anywhere. A recorded customer call carries a voice fingerprint - biometric data under GDPR - and that holds for your evaluation set just as much as for production. We show how sovereign AI unlocks use cases an external API may never touch, and why the same setup turned out cheaper. Open weights, Ray, Dagster and Metaxy - and an honest look at where the GPUs should live for operational AI. Talk #2: The Agent, Your Business Need [Martin Mayr, Adrian Dimaano] More businesses than ever explore the use of agentic workflows to automate manual tasks. One common use case is the integration into company data and knowledge landscape. This integration comes with a few challenges: How should one reflect company polices? How can one connect different software solutions to the agent and how can one make sure to reflect and isolate workflows. In this talk we are going to explore possible answers to each question and present a practical example, how one can integrate agentic workflows to support the company in day-to-day business. — 📅 September 24th, 2026, from 17:30 📍 Location: weXelerate Auditorium, Praterstraße 1, 1020 Vienna 🚇 Approach: U1/U4 to Schwedenplatz, entrance via Taborstraße or Praterstraße. Parking available in the building garage. — ⏰ Schedule: Check-in: 17:30 – 18:00 Talk #1: 18:00 – 18:30 Break & Networking: 18:30 – 18:45 Talk #2: 18:45 – 19:15 Networking, Food & Drinks: 19:15 – 21:00 — We are now part of the GDG community. Startup Highlight - AI Agents and GenAI Music producing

Walcherstraße 1a/stiege 3, Vienna, Austria · Vienna Data Science Group Meetup
In person

Dear Data Enthusiasts, Summer might be over, but that means meetups are back on the menu! We’re kicking off the season with an exciting event featuring two fantastic Vienna-based startups. Lessons from bringing an AI agent to production (and building a start-up along the way) Patrick Hohenecker Heinz Eckert In this session, we, Patrick Hohenecker and Heinz Eckert, founders of AI consultancy Neural Natives, will share practical insights and surprising challenges from building an agentic AI system and putting it into production. The project we will focus on is an agent we developed for a group of functional fitness gyms in Vienna. The system helps prospective customers select and book a group class for their first trial session. We will cover learnings and surprises across the full project lifecycle: scoping the project and aligning with the client, development and deployment, and ultimately operating the solution in production. Our aim for this session is to give you a hands-on perspective on what it takes to make agentic AI work in practice today. Patrick has a background in Computer Science and AI, earned his PhD in Deep Learning from the University of Oxford, and previously founded and served as CTO of successful international tech startups in the legal and hospitality sectors. Heinz studied Computer Science and Psychology. He previously led the AI team at a large Austrian telecom provider and has more than 10 years of experience in data and AI. Beat Shaper: AI music-production tool; from concept to production Joaquin Ramiro Molina In this talk, Joaquín will walk us through the development of Beat Shaper — an AI-powered music production tool designed for electronic music producers. Joaquin is an SW Engineer at Cloudflight and Co-founder of Beat Shaper. He's passionate about AI and Retrieval systems, and firmly believes Friday evening is the best time to deploy to production. 🎤🎤 Open Mic We are going to open up the stage after the talks for community annou
