HARDWIRED Vol. 03 | Building for Safety-Critical

Wien, Austria, Vienna, Austria
In person

HARDWIRED is the TU Wien Robotics Club's meetup series for the people who actually build things — robots, machines, medical devices, and the systems that aren't allowed to fail. For Vol. 03 we're guests at the Vienna office of Ketryx. Ketryx builds an AI-native compliance platform for life sciences: automated validation, traceability and FDA/EU-MDR documentation across the entire product lifecycle. Three of the world's five largest medtech manufacturers run on it. Last year the company closed a $39M Series B, with engineering split between Boston and Vienna. We think that's one of the most interesting problems in deep tech right now, and one most hardware people run into sooner or later: how do you move fast when a bug isn't a bug, but a patient? Regulation is usually treated as the thing that slows engineering down. Ketryx treats it as an engineering problem. That reframing is worth an evening. What to expect A talk by Jan Pöschko on building AI-native software for regulated, safety-critical products — and what that means for anyone shipping hardware into the real world Q&A, no filter Drinks, pizza, and the part everyone actually comes for: talking to the other people in the room A look around the Ketryx office Who this is for Students, engineers, founders, and anyone building at the intersection of hardware, software and the physical world. You don't need to be a TUWRC member and you don't need a medtech background. Curiosity is the entry requirement. Doors 17:30 · Talk 18:00 · Open end Spots are limited by the size of the room, so register early. Free. HARDWIRED is organised by the TU Wien Robotics Club — 250+ students, one makerspace at the Home of Innovation am Arsenal, and a fairly stubborn belief that Europe should build hardware again.

☕📚 Coffee & Chapters: A Pair of Aces

Café Schopenhauer, Vienna, Austria
In person

Hey ladies! Grab your favorite mug because we're kicking off a new monthly tradition: Coffee & Chapters. Think cozy brunch energy, great books, and a room full of women who love a good story just as much as they love a good latte. ☕📚 Our first pick is a gripping historical novel set in 1930s New York. It follows Eunice Carter, Manhattan’s first Black female prosecutor, and Polly Adler, a notorious brothel owner — two women from completely different worlds who team up to bring down mob boss Lucky Luciano. Both are based on real historical figures, and it’s fast-paced, atmospheric, and genuinely inspiring. 📖 Fast, fun, page-turner — perfect for a first pick! 🗓️ Saturday, September 12, 2026 📍 Location: Café Schopenhauer Grab a copy (physical, ebook, or audiobook all work!) and let’s meet to chat about it. Can’t wait to hear what everyone thinks! 💛
