Join the UK NEQAS Parasitology 40 th Anniversary (1986 – 2026) Symposium !
Parasitology, once the preserve of institutions specialised in tropical diseases, has now emerged as the fourth branch of medical microbiology and all infection specialists need a working knowledge of the subject.
Climate change, migration and rapid expansion of available immunosuppressive therapies mean that parasites can and do present in primary care and many other medical specialities. Whilst molecular diagnostics are increasingly available, serology and microscopy are still central to parasite diagnosis.
External Quality Assessment (EQA) is the foundation stone of accurate, reproducible test results and UK NEQAS Parasitology is celebrating its 40th Anniversary with a Symposium illustrating a range of important parasitic infections, the challenges they pose and their laboratory diagnosis.
The Symposium is designed to be of interest to all infection specialists, biomedical scientists, clinical scientists, and public health specialists.
