The Future of AI is tiny and physical

NOV21
19:00 · Europe / London
  • This workshop explores the emerging future of AI focused on tiny, embedded, and physical intelligent systems.
  • It addresses how AI can operate closer to users with lower energy use and privacy-preserving sensing.
  • Attendees will learn about decentralised AI in devices like drones and wearables to create safer, smarter, and more responsive environments.

About this event

Artificial intelligence is often imagined as something vast, huge data centres and powerful systems hidden in the cloud. But another future of AI is already taking shape: smaller, closer to us and increasingly physical and contextual.
In this talk, Eiman Kanjo introduces tiny, embedded and sensor-driven AI, intelligent systems built on optimised hardware, specialist adaptive models and managed sensing, and in some cases collaborative and distributed architectures.
These decentralised systems continuously sense, learn and adapt to the physical world with lower energy use and reduced cloud reliance, from drones to wearables for health self-management.
How can we build AI that empowers rather than replaces? From privacy-preserving sensing to collaborative heterogenous robotic system, this talk explores how tiny AI could help create safer, smarter and more responsive environments, with people and trust at the centre.
