About this event

Who is this for?
This is for people who work on or care about co-ops, community building, and social impact — especially those who use storytelling in their work. If you've been curious about AI and keep hearing the term "vibe coding" but haven't found a gentle way in, this is a good place to start.
And if you came to a previous session — welcome back. Whether you want to build on what you started, try a completely different idea, or just come and jam on making a game with us again, there's room for you. You don't have to arrive with anything figured out.
You don't need to know how to code, what vibe coding is, or how AI tools work. You just need to show up.
*Please note that this workshop will be open to a maximum of 12 people, so please be sure that you can make it.

What will we do?
Games are a powerful way to carry a story — they put your audience inside it. In this session, we explore how games can be used to tell stories meaningfully, then build one using AI-assisted vibe coding tools.
We'll start by playing and unpicking a set of sample games — understanding how they were prompted and what makes them work. Then you'll design and build your own short browser game (3–7 minutes of play) by describing what you want to an AI, guided step by step. By the end, you'll have made something playable — and you'll know from experience what "vibe coding with AI" actually means.
The games you'll explore and make are short — a few minutes of play — but designed to carry weight. If you'd like a sense of what this can look like, take a look at Game Poems Magazine, an online journal publishing short, playable games as a form of poetry. We're not affiliated, but it's the closest thing to a kindred spirit out there — and everything is free to play.

What to expect:
Explore sample games and decode how they were made
Design your own game concept — with or without a story ready
Build a working browser game using AI prompting
Share and play each other's games at the end
