Meet your instructor

Dalia Scolnick is a fashion designer and a bio-design researcher exploring the intersection of sustainable fashion, material innovation, and living systems. She is currently pursuing a BFA in Fashion Design at Syracuse University with minors in Business and Fashion & Beauty Communications. Dalia has also studied abroad at both Central Saint Martins and London College of Fashion.
Most recently she’s completed an atelier internship with Pauline Dujancourt, following experience assisting with a few London Fashion Week shows. Dalia joined LifeFabs to continue her experimentation in bacterial cellulose, mycelium, plant-root textiles, bio-yarns, bioplastics, and natural dyes to explore how biology can become an active collaborator in the design process and shape a more regenerative future for fashion.
Alongside her research, Dalia has curated the first undergrad fashion design exhibition in Syracuse Univeristy, and will soon collaborate with bio-fashion designer Helena Elston during New York Fashion Week for both exhibition curation and designing garments.
