Fire safety legislation (Overview)
Understanding the physics and chemistry of fire
Development and spread of fire
Action in the event of a fire
Means of raising alarm
Means of summoning the fire brigade
Action on hearing the fire alarm
Evacuation procedures
Fire warden duties: Conducting an evacuation & Understanding emergency plans/procedures
Duties of the fire manager
Fire risk assessment
Record Keeping
Liaison with the Fire Authority
The maintenance requirement of fire alarms, fire extinguishers & emergency lighting.
Please Note: If you are attending the course via Zoom there will be no practical element to the course (as in you will not discharge a fire extinguisher) The instructor will demonstrate the correct use of discharging/using. This may shorten the course by 30 minutes to an hour.
Fire Warden course forms the first part of the course, this is followed by the fire manager section.
Certification: A Guardian Safety Fire Manager Training Certificate (3-year certificate) is awarded to participants once they have successfully completed the course.
Participants can select their preferred attendance method, either participating online through Zoom or attending in person.
Pre-requisites to attend the course:
All participants must be fluent in English.
If you have opted to attend online via Zoom you will need a PC, Laptop, Smartphone, etc. with audio/video & Internet. Ensure a browser is running correctly (Google Chrome, firefox, etc) or the Zoom Application is installed.
If you have opted to attend in person, registration will begin 15 minutes prior to the start time of the course.
