Longevity Munich hosts a Munich Pretzel Run 2026 on Sunday, 23 August: an easy morning run along the Isar, you can already arrive with your pretzel in the hand and load carbs during the run.Otherwise we can go to a bakery nearby and enjoy some pretzels on the riverbank. Any pace is welcome and there are no race numbers.
What is this about?
Your cardiorespiratory fitness (VO₂max: how much oxygen your body can use when you push) is one of the strongest predictors of how long and how well you live. Most of that base gets built slowly, at a pace where you can still talk in full sentences. That is the pace we run here, and the pretzel at the end is part of the plan. The Isar path is flat and forgiving, which makes it one of the better places in Munich to spend a Sunday morning on your feet.
What to expect
We meet on the Isar riverbank at 10:00 and warm up together for a few minutes. The run goes in an easy 5 KM loop in a 6:00 min/km pace. Nobody runs alone and nobody gets dropped, so bring whatever pace you have on the day. Afterwards we can talk at the isar stay as long as people feel like it.

Who is it for?
Runners of every level, from people deep in race training to people whose last run was in school. If you have been meaning to start again and want company for the first one, this is a good place to do it. You do not need to be fast and you do not need to know anyone.
