Lightning Talks #5: What nobody tells you about living in Portugal @ Kübe

Kube Coworking | Lisboa, Lisbon, Portugal
In person

Lightning Talks is back at Kübe. Short talks, ten minutes Lightning Talks is back at Kübe. Short talks, ten minutes each, then real questions, then the room opens up. This one is about the rules nobody wrote down. The things everyone living here learns the hard way: who you call and who you visit, what a yes really means, which habit from home stopped working. Our speakers each tell one true story about a rule they got wrong. The question for the night: which of your home rules did you drop here, and which did you keep? Bring your answer. The Q&A is the best part, and this room has people from all over, so expect different answers. Come as you are. Grab a seat, listen, ask a real question if you have one. Free entry, limited seats. Here is how the last one went: the Lightning Talks #4 recap and the event page. HOW THE NIGHT GOES 19:30, doors open. Settle in, grab a seat. Fill in a card if you have a rule to share. 20:00, the talks, ten minutes each. 20:30, the Q&A, moderated by Pedro. Scan the QR on screen to ask, anonymous if you like, or raise a hand. 21:00, open networking, with a glass of local red wine. SPEAKERS Lisa Jerahtina Founder and CEO of Redeco, a curated marketplace for pre-loved furniture, and host of the Redeco Room podcast. Startups & Scaleups Embassy Forum

Avenida dos Combatentes, Lisbon, Portugal
In person

Ahead of Web Summit, the Association for Competitive Technology (ACT) and the U.S. Embassy in Portugal are hosting a select group of founders for an exclusive breakfast roundtable. Step away from the noise for a focused conversation on scaling beyond Portugal, EU regulatory strategy, and international expansion. After the discussion, stick around for targeted networking with policy experts, investors, and fellow founders. Whether you’re eyeing EU expansion or planning to take your startup worldwide, this roundtable delivers actionable playbooks for market entry, cross-border trade, and securing growth capital. Please plan to arrive at 9.30 to get through security. Programming will begin at 10.00. About Developed: EU Developed: EU brings together founders, investors, and ecosystem leaders to discuss local startup realities and how EU-level decisions increasingly shape the way teams build, launch, and scale. The goal is simple: build a stronger cross-border community, discuss what’s working (and what isn’t) for tech innovators, and carry those insights and relationships from the Developed: EU Tour into broader conversations about digital policy and competitiveness in Brussels. About the Association for Competitive Technology (ACT) ACT is a global membership organization representing technology startups, scaleups, and independent developers building across the digital economy. We work with governments around the world to advocate for policies that reward and inspire small, tech-driven innovation while providing resources to help you raise capital, scale globally, and create jobs.
