Finalists will demo their projects LIVE at MongoDB.local New York City on September 30th. The next chapter of agentic infrastructure is memory, persistence, and self-evolving systems. Join us for a hackathon focused on solving the hardest problem in agentic AI: building harnesses that can adapt, remember, and operate reliably over the long haul. We're looking for impactful projects built with MongoDB Atlas, Vector Search, and Agentic Memory tooling. Whether you're building agents that rewrite their own guardrails, systems that hold context across weeks-long tasks, or entirely new approaches to persistent agent memory, this is your opportunity to build the infrastructure the next generation of agents will run on. 🥇 Prizes $15,000 in cash prizes will be awarded across the three final teams, and more prizes will be announced! 📝 Judges Top judges from MongoDB, our partners, and the NYC ecosystem will be joining us. All attendees must submit an application and be approved to attend. If selected as a finalist we require one person from your team to record a demo on-site September 26th which will then be displayed at .local NYC. To be eligible to win, finalists must also be available on September 30th to attend MongoDB.local NYC and present their project.

Stories We Tend: A Garden Party by Kinfolk Tech Like a local community garden, collective memory doesn't survive on its own. It has to be tended, watered, and passed hand to hand or it withers.The stories people plant here today become roots for what the neighborhood imagines tomorrow. Our garden party invites community to share in memories of home and belonging, and to dream and imagine futures in Brooklyn. The event will feature live musical performances, small bites and tea, workshops, art-making, and a real life manifestation of our forthcoming free, consent-centered storytelling platform for community-authored multimedia memory keeping. We hope to see you at Whole Neighborhood Garden to join us in celebrating.

Join us on September 28th, from 4:30 to 6:00pm for the launch of Branka Panic’s new book “Foreign Policy at the AI Frontier: How AI is Reshaping Progress, Power, and Peace.” Organized around three themes—Progress, Power, and Peace—the book explores how AI is reshaping the future of foreign policy. It takes readers from the history of diplomatic technology, the frontiers of agentic diplomacy, and the Global South's growing role in shaping AI's future. The book blends case studies with ethical reflection to equip its readers to act where two frontiers meet: the technological and the diplomatic. This event is co-hosted by NYU Center on International Cooperation, NYU Peace Research and Education Program, and Data for Peace. Light refreshments will be served. About the Author Founder and Executive Director at AI for Peace | Author on AI, Peace and Foreign Policy | TEDx and International Keynote Speaker | Strategic Adviser Branka Panic is a founder, author, speaker, and advisor to governments, UN agencies, and civil society, navigating the responsible use of AI for peace and security. A keynote speaker and author of the foundational book “AI for Peace”,and the blog series “Is AI Coming in Peace?”, she has helped shape the global discourse on how artificial intelligence can prevent conflict, safeguard human rights, and advance lasting peace. She works with AI both as a topic of policy debate and as a hands-on tool for diplomacy and peacebuilding. She is a Non-Resident Fellow at NYU-CIC, and one of the organizers of the Data for Peace Conference.

For people following AI, the last few months have been at times overwhelming, often inscrutable, and increasingly absurd. For anyone who wants to make sense of it together, this is the place. Feel free to share with curious friends and colleagues. A few people who’ve spent years thinking critically about AI, and what to do about it, will join us to talk and take questions: Alex Bores, Co-Founder of Who Decides, a new nonprofit working to give the public a say in AI development, and author of the RAISE Act, New York’s frontier AI safety law. Zvi Mowshowitz, author of Don’t Worry About the Vase, the most thorough recurring analyses of AI developments. Brooke Bacigal, Program Manager at Safe AI Forum, which convenes top scientists from around the globe in the International Dialogues on AI Safety. Moderated by Garrison Lovely, journalist and author of Obsolete: The AI Industry's Trillion-Dollar Race to Replace Us — and How to Stop It. Pizza, drinks, and snacks will be provided. We’ll also be announcing several new programs starting at Collider this fall. Collider hosts a collection of people and organizations working on AI safety and governance, and will be a good place to get your questions answered.
