About this event

AI in Battery R&D
Western advantage in batteries won't come from building the biggest factories — it comes from innovating faster than anyone else. This edition of Beers & Batts brings together Holyvolt and Aris Machina for a fireside chat on how AI is collapsing battery R&D cycles from years to months - and why speed of innovation, not Capex or factory footprint, will decide who wins the next decade of the battery race. Join the waitlist to get notified.
Co-hosted by Aris Machina, Holyvolt, Norrsken and Business Sweden.
Siddharth Khullar - Before founding Aris Machina with Peter Carlsson, he led Software & AI at Northvolt and previously held engineering and leadership roles at Apple, Microsoft, and several deep tech startups spanning AI, sensing, and autonomous systems.
Steven Prast - Before joining Holyvolt as COO, he was a Senior Expert at McKinsey & Company, advising manufacturers on gigafactory design, following engineering leadership roles at Tesla across battery, vehicle, and solar production.
What is Beers & Batts?
When the right people come together, great things happen. Beers & Batts is where battery professionals connect, share, and tackle the energy transition's hardest problems.
Organised 15 times since 2022, it's grown organically from 10 to over 300 people, hosted alongside a rotating cast of companies and venues.
At its heart is a people-first approach. Over beer and pizza, we share what's working and what isn't. We challenge each other. We say what we need help with. Openness and real personal connections power the battery industry forward.

BUILDING DATA PLATFORMS

Stockholm, Sweden, Stockholm, Sweden
In person

Every data platform conversation splits down the middle. One side argues about the stack: which engine, which table format, how to handle state and replay. The other side argues about the operating model: ownership, contracts, treating data as a product. The data platforms that actually hold up get both right. Two talks this evening. One takes you into the engine room, the other zooms out to where the field is heading and what it means for Swedish enterprises. Robert Sahlin (Supercargo) on where data platforms are heading and how the strongest ones get built. Data contracts, ownership, data products, the data flywheel, and what it all means for Swedish enterprises. Joel Falk (Irori) on building a working data platform for event-driven architecture with Kafka, Flink, and Iceberg. He takes the architecture end to end: where each layer fits, the trade-offs, best practices, and the pitfalls worth avoiding. 📅 17 September | 📍 Stockholm | 🍕 Food and drinks on us
