EventIn person
17:00
Brisbane Square Library, Brisbane, Australia
Bitcoin Brisbane

New Location, New Time. Arrive from 5:00pm for a 5:15pm start, at the Brisbane Square Library. About Brisbane BitDevs: A technical discussion for everybody interested in the development of Bitcoin and the technical, economic and philosophical implications of it. You do not need to be a developer to listen in on, or even join the discussion, but having a background in IT, computer systems, software development or cryptography will be useful. BitDevs is about everything related to Bitcoin software, tools, research, protocol upgrades (BIPs), mining and so on. Submissions for topics are encouraged and can be submitted directly on GitHub. You can expect about a dozen or so topics per month. A short round-table discussion will follow each topic with an opportunity for comments and questions. This month, among other topics, we will discuss the bitcoin node. If you have been on the fence about attending a BneBitDevs, this might be a good first one to attend. No topic is too technical or nuanced to be discussed. We do expect some topics to generate discussion. Opinionated, thoughtful and respectful reasoning is encouraged. Unfortunately, we do not have time to entertain topics related to other blockchains. Agenda: Submit agenda items as a comment in GitHub under the issue for the current month here, https://github.com/BneBitDevs/Meetup/issues. Venue: Brisbane Square Library, The Community Room. After-hours access - Enter from the Raddacliff Place side and see library security to be let in. Food and drink (no alcohol) is allowed and welcome in the community room. Getting There: Public transport is easy. If you are driving, consider King George Square council car park. It is one of the better options. https://www.brisbane.qld.gov.au/transport-and-parking/parking/council-car-parks#george Meetups: 1st Thursday of every month - The regular meetup. 3rd Sunday of every month - BneBitDevs, the technical meetup.
