  • This event is aimed at anyone curious about AI development who wants to learn by doing and network with others.

About this event

Melbourne's AI buildDay, running out of Stone & Chalk.
This day is all about building. Bring an idea, a project you've been stuck on, or just turn up curious - what you build is totally up to you.
We give you OpenAI credits to power your tools - use them in Codex to build what you'd like!
Not sure what to build? We'll have a set of problem briefs ready on the day - pick one and run with it.
You'll build for a few hours, then we run demos so everyone can show what they pulled together. Low-key and a lot of fun.
The day starts at 9am, but you can come and go any time that suits.
What to bring: your laptop and charger - and an idea (or come find one here).
Schedule:
9:00 - 9:15 - Quick intros: a quick rundown of how the day runs (it's simple - build, then demo).
11:30 - 12:15 - Demos: we'll pick a few people to show what they built.
12:15 - 1:00 - keep building and networking.
Non-technical? Perfect - that's exactly who these days are for. You learn by doing and getting your hands dirty, no experience needed.
Facilitated by Callum Holt. If you're downstairs, SMS 0434 026 088 and I'll come and let you in.

Founders Unfiltered: Dawid Naude

Stone & Chalk Melbourne Startup Hub, Melbourne, Australia
In person

Founders Unfiltered: Dawid Naude, Founder & CEO of Pathfindr Founders Unfiltered is Stone & Chalk's flagship fireside chat series. This is a long-form, live conversation for founders, by founders. Each month, one founder pulls back the curtain on the decisions, trade-offs, failures, and what they'd do differently, so the founders in the room can go further, faster. This month, we sit down with Dawid Naude, Founder & CEO of Pathfindr, Australia's leading, AFR award-winning AI accelerator on a mission to make AI exciting, accessible, and impossible to ignore. Across two decades, Dawid has held consulting, leadership, and founder roles in digital, technology, and innovation, including leading Cloud Sherpas' data & AI division through its acquisition by Accenture in 2015, where he progressed to Partner and led projects for Qantas, NAB, AMP, Foxtel, and Government. Through Pathfindr, named one of AFR BOSS' Most Innovative Companies in its founding year (2024), he now leads a fast-growing team of AI specialists working with clients including Woolworths Group, Victoria Government, Honey Insurance, and Australia Post. No polished narrative. No pitch. Just an honest, founder-to-founder conversation about how decisions were really made, what worked, what didn't, and what he'd change. Format: 1.00pm – 1.30pm: Arrival, lunch & networking 1.30pm – 2.15pm: Fireside chat 2.15pm – 2.30pm: Audience Q&A This series prioritises founder voices only, curated speakers with real, lived experience from the Stone & Chalk community and alumni network. Come ready to learn, compare notes, and leave with something you couldn't get anywhere else.
