  • 54.1% of Spain’s seed startups raised only one round.
  • Switzerland’s single-round share at seed stage is 53.5%.
  • Spain’s pre-seed single-round share exceeds Switzerland’s by 6.3 points.

Across the 1,986 startups Brouky tracks whose first tracked round was at least two years ago in Spain and Switzerland, Spain's seed-stage startups have a 54.1% share of raising exactly one tracked round without follow-ons, slightly above Switzerland's 53.5%. This measure excludes younger startups to allow time for additional rounds, but a second round not captured would inflate the share.

At the seed stage, Spain's stall rate is 49.8%, somewhat lower than Switzerland's 54.5%, indicating a higher proportion of Swiss startups stalled after seed despite a similar single-round share. These figures may partly reflect expanding data coverage.
