Netherlands Seed Startups Show 2.9% Higher Single-Round Share Than France
- 57.1% of Netherlands seed startups raised only one round
- 54.2% of France seed startups raised only one round
- Netherlands leads France by 2.9 percentage points in seed single-round share
Across the 1,407 seed-stage startups in the Netherlands tracked by Brouky whose first tracked round was at least two years ago, 57.1% raised exactly one round and did not raise again. This single-round share exceeds France's 54.2% share among 3,479 comparable seed startups, though this difference may partly reflect expanding data coverage.
Both countries show similar single-round shares when including preseed startups, with 55.9% in the Netherlands and 56.2% in France. This suggests that at the very earliest stages, the likelihood of raising only one tracked round is close, but diverges slightly at seed stage.
SEED STAGE SINGLE-ROUND SHARE BY COUNTRY (%)
The data covers startups with first tracked rounds at least two years old to allow time for follow-on rounds. While a second round not captured by tracking would inflate these stall rates, the cross-country comparison remains valid under consistent coverage assumptions.
