Finance & Blockchain's 3.5pp Retreat Cedes Ground to Energy's 3.9pp Gain
- Healthcare & Life Sciences share grew 3.4 percentage points from 2021 to 2024
- Industry & Hardware share rose by 2.7 percentage points in the same period
- Healthcare median seed round size at €10M exceeds Industry's €8.7M
Across the 1,124 seed deals Brouky tracks in Sweden and Israel from 2021 to 2024, the Healthcare & Life Sciences sector expanded its share of seed funding by 3.4 percentage points, reaching 21.5% of tracked deals. This share shift may partly reflect expanding data coverage over time. The Industry & Hardware sector grew its share by 2.7 points to 11.7%. The share shifts reflect a competitive reallocation of seed-stage capital between these sectors.
Energy, Environment & Mobility gained 3.9 points in share, the largest increase among sectors, surpassing both Healthcare & Life Sciences and Industry & Hardware. The zero-sum nature of share shifts means gains in these sectors correspond with declines elsewhere, such as Finance & Blockchain, which lost 3.5 points.
The Healthcare sector's median seed round size was €10 million, notably higher than Industry & Hardware's median of €8.7 million. Both sectors showed stronger median round sizes than Software & Developer Tools, which held the largest share at 35% but saw a slight decline of 0.7 points and a median round of €7.36 million.
