Across the 7,099 deals tracked by Brouky in 2021, the Energy, Environment & Mobility sector accounted for 5.8% of total funding share, rising to 9.9% so far in 2024 among 3,791 deals. This 1.7× increase signals a marked shift in investor interest compared to other major categories. This year-over-year trend may partly reflect expanding data coverage.

During the same period, Commerce & Marketing funding share declined from 6.8% in 2021 to 3.9% in 2024, nearly halving its share, while Consumer, Lifestyle & Services also saw a drop from 8.7% to 6.3%. Healthcare & Life Sciences, although still commanding a sizable share, fell from 17.6% in 2021 to 15% in 2024, further underscoring the relative rise of Energy, Environment & Mobility. Meanwhile, Software & Developer Tools maintained a dominant share above 30%, peaking at 35.5% in 2024.
