🤖 TOKENS, BENCHMARKS & THE OPEN WEB 🤖
Join us at Northeastern University on Tuesday, November 24 for our last regular meetup of the year. This month we're getting practical about AI-assisted coding: how to stop burning money on tokens, and which models actually handle real Git work. Plus pizza, and plenty of time to hang out with the Vancouver JS crowd.
🎙️ Featured Talks:
Shawn McKay (Sr Staff Engineer @ Amplitude, DevX lead): Death by a Thousand Tokens: How to Cut Your AI Coding Bill in Half (Without Cutting Corners). Context hygiene, output filtering, model tiering, caching and workflow design: concrete techniques that cut AI dev costs 60–90% with no loss in quality. You'll leave with a checklist you can use the next day.
Chris Griffing (Developer Advocate @ GitKraken): Get Benched with GitBench. A recap of GitBench (gitbench.gitkraken.com), the benchmark for how well AI models handle real Git tasks: how it was built, how to read the results, and what jumps out of the stats.
One more talk to be announced soon 👀
