It's like being afraid of the ocean because you can't swim. Bill Lennan struggled with social anxiety for decades, but today he talks with strangers every day and enjoys public speaking. When his tech career started, he was a shy introvert who avoided talking with people outside my small circle. He thought being a good coder was all he really needed. Then two events catalyzed a change in his life and career. Because of those events, he created an incremental system to reverse his social anxiety, enjoys presenting, and ultimately enjoys public speaking.
