The AGI Transition: How AI Affects Work and Life

AUG12
18:00 · America / Los Angeles
  • This free public workshop explores how artificial intelligence is transforming work and life.
  • It is for anyone interested in understanding the broader impacts of AI beyond technical details.
  • Participants will learn about the societal changes driven by advances in AI technology.

About this event

A free, public workshop—no technical background needed
Artificial intelligence is no longer just getting better at narrow tasks—it’s beginning to look general. Many researchers believe we’re entering the early stages of the AGI transition: a period where AI systems start to match or exceed human abilities across a wide range of domains.
This workshop explores what AGI actually means, how to think about it intuitively (without hype or jargon), and what this transition could mean for your job, your relationships, and your day-to-day life—much sooner than most people expect.
Together, we’ll explore questions like:
What is AGI?
How do experts define artificial general intelligence, and how is it different from today’s AI tools?
Work & Jobs:
Which kinds of jobs are already being automated or transformed—and which ones experts believe are most likely to remain resilient?
Human Connection:
How is AI starting to replace or supplement roles once filled by coworkers, friends, tutors, therapists, and companions?
What you’ll get:

A clear, beginner-friendly explanation of AGI and why it matters
Real-world examples of how AI is already reshaping work and social life
Live demos that highlight both impressive capabilities and emerging risks
Interactive discussion and exercises to test your own intuitions about the future

Come ready to grapple with one of the biggest transitions humanity may ever face—a shift that could redefine not just how we work, but how we relate to each other, find meaning, and navigate a world increasingly shaped by intelligent machines.

How to Get Customers to Actually Pay

San Francisco, CA, San Francisco Bay Area, United States
In person

Product-market fit with Rob Snyder 🍻 Rob Snyder spent two years struggling to find product-market fit. After a last-minute pivot, his startup went from $0 to $4M in annual recurring revenue in the next two years. If you’re doing demo after demo, following up endlessly and still struggling to close, how do you know whether to change your pitch, your product or who you’re selling to? Join Founders on Tap for a workshop with Rob Snyder, founder, product-market fit advisor and author of The Power of PULL. Using his push vs. pull framework, we’ll explore why some sales take constant convincing, how to find customers with a reason to buy now and how to build around what they’re already trying to accomplish. We’ll get into: Why someone can have a problem, like your solution and still never buy. How to spot real demand in customer conversations. What makes your product a priority instead of a “maybe later.” How to turn one customer’s success into something you can repeat. For founders looking for their first paying customers or wondering why every new sale still feels so hard. Bring your questions about your own startup for the Q&A, grab a drink and meet other founders figuring it out alongside you.
