Velocity is kicking off Waterloo Tech Week 2026 with the Velocity Pitch Competition. It will look a little different this time around. 100 pitches. 100 judges. One day of lightning pitches. Be there to cheer on the top 10 student teams that make it to the finals where they have a chance at more business-changing connections as well as a $5,000 top prize. Tech Week can get a little busy. Back-to-school can get even busier. So we’re taking things outside. Come hang with the Maple Valley community for a low-key afternoon at the park. Play some ball if that’s your thing, jump into a game of spikeball, fly a kite, check out a few surprise pop-ups, or just grab a spot on the grass and meet some new people. No pressure to be “on.” Just enjoy some good people, fresh air, games, and plenty of room to chat.
