Prompt to Pipeline: Automating Workflows With AI

SEP12
15:00

About this event

Stop copying and pasting prompts into a chat window. It's time to build a workflow that work for you while you sleep.

Most people use AI as a smart search bar. In this hands-on, 2.5 hour workshop, you'll step up from chatting with AI to building with AI by turning an LLM into an automated system. We'll tackle a pain point everyone shares: an overflowing, chaotic email inbox, and building a working, hands-free triage assistant that reads, categorizes, and act on your mail automatically.

Choose Your Track:
Track A (Code-First): JavaScript + Google Apps Script directly in Google Workspace.
Track B (Low-Code/Visual): Visual node-based automation using n8n.

What You'll Learn:
How to trigger AI directly from real world events (like new emails).
Forcing Gemini to return clean, reliable JSON data instead of long text answers.
Essential AI guardrails: catching errors, handling rate limit limits, and keeping a human in the loop.
Whether you are a developer, project manager, or technical enthusiast, bring your laptop and leave with a deployed, personalized AI pipeline, this event is beginner-friendly for everyone!

Play some ball if that’s your thing, jump into a game of spikeball, fly a kite, check out a few surprise pop-ups, or just grab a spot on the grass and meet some new people. No pressure to be “on.” Just enjoy some good people, fresh air, games, and plenty of room to chat. Whether you’re a student builder, local founder, creative, investor, operator, or just someone curious to meet more people in the Waterloo tech community, you’re welcome here. Maybe you’ll make a new friend, meet your next collaborator, or end up talking through a deal on a picnic blanket.
