San Diego | Claude Impact Lab - Biotech & Life Sciences

San Diego, CA, San Diego, United States
In person

Join a Claude Community Event, organized by local enthusiasts for everyone who loves building with Claude! Part II of the Claude Conversation for Biotech & Life Sciences in San Diego, a two-part series. Curious about Part I? Details here! Last month, we held Part I, the Claude Conversation: a room full of San Diegans spent an evening sharing our experiences, fears, hopes, and ideas focused on the future of AI in biotech and life sciences. This month, it's time for Part II: What should we do about it? What solutions might we build? Three key themes emerged from Part I of the Claude Conversation that will guide our tracks for Part II, the Impact Lab: 1) How do we address concerns around AI being "confidently wrong," especially when dealing with scientific data? 2) What are the opportunities and use cases for in-silico testing and discovery? 3) How do we protect proprietary scientific data? No previous hackathon experience required! Pick one of the three tracks, tell us your area of expertise in the sign-up, and we'll make sure you have a team for the evening. This isn't your typical hackathon - by the end of the evening, we hope you've built not only a prototype, but also real connections and continued conversations right here in your community around the future of AI in this space. See you there!

San Diego | Claude for Legal Workshop

San Diego, CA, San Diego, United States
In person

Claude Cowork for Lawyers & Paralegals: Hands-On Workshop Built for practicing lawyers and paralegals, this workshop shows you how to use Claude in your day-to-day legal work—from contract review and NDA triage to meeting preparation and first drafts. We'll cover three things: skills that teach Claude your firm's playbooks and drafting style, connectors that connect it to your email, calendar, and documents, and the latest Claude features relevant to legal practice. You'll see practical demonstrations of legal workflows, then work through a task yourself. We'll also discuss confidentiality, privilege, and the points where professional judgment and review remain essential. No technical background needed. Bring a laptop and a task from your practice that you'd like to speed up. You'll leave with a workflow you can put to use Monday morning. This workshop is designed for lawyers, paralegals, and other legal professionals. Priority registration will be given to those working in the legal profession. Organizers Max Krueger is the founder of Backland Labs, an AI studio that helps organizations apply artificial intelligence to complex business workflows. A self-taught AI engineer and former startup CTO, Max has led engineering teams, built production AI systems, and advised Fortune 500 companies. He also runs a growing AI community in San Diego, bringing together practitioners to share knowledge and explore practical uses of AI. Julian Bryant is a San Diego attorney and software developer who uses AI in his own legal practice every day. A Georgetown Law graduate, Cooley alum, and former startup founder with a decade of app development behind him, he brings a rare blend of legal and technical fluency to the question of what AI can actually do for lawyers. Julian is also the Lead Organizer of Startup Weekend San Diego.
