Investor of the Month featuring Punit Shah, Managing Partner- Alteria Capital

SEP23
17:30 · Asia / Kolkata

About this event

Investor of the Month: Punit Shah
Oyo, Agrostar, BlackBuck. Punit Shah personally closed the venture debt deals for all of them, before venture debt was even a category founders understood.
He's Managing Partner at Alteria Capital, India's leading venture debt fund, the one that became Asia's fastest to cross $750M in startup debt funding. Alteria's portfolio now includes Ather Energy, Ultrahuman, Bluestone, Country Delight and Zepto. Before Alteria, Punit spent years at InnoVen Capital, personally leading 75+ venture debt investments.
This month, he's joining us for a real conversation on what actually happens after you sign a term sheet: what happens between yes and money in the bank, where founders lose leverage in a debt negotiation, and what 75+ deals taught him about which founders are fundable.
📅 Wednesday, 23rd September ⏰ 5:30 PM 📍 Spotwork by Spotlight 🎟️ Free entry
Small room, real conversation. Register before it fills up.

Philosophy Meetup: Mapping the Ethics of Gen AI technology

Silk Road Coffee Company Experience Center, Mumbai, India
In person

We keep hearing the same lines "the future belongs to AI," "AI is inevitable," "adapt or be replaced." This meetup is about understanding the other side of that story. We will be discussing the issues that have resulted from rapid AI development data scraping, job loss, environmental damage, deepfakes, identity theft scams, AI-enabled mass surveillance, and more. And we'll ask what ideal regulation to address these issues might actually look like. The goal is a genuinely productive discussion between two sides those skeptical about the benefits of generative AI and worried about where the future is headed, and those who enjoy using it and remain optimistic. Whether you lean toward one side and want to hear the other, or you're simply curious about the range of perspectives and the reasoning behind them this meetup is for you.

Yes, AI Can Run on 8GB RAM and a Mobile GPU

DevX, Mumbai, India
In person

Entry is by approval only, expect confirmation emails by Monday, the 21st of September🖐️ Slapping a ChatGPT wrapper on a text field doesn't make you an AI engineer anymore. Join GDG MAD as we officially cut the cord on expensive cloud APIs and dive straight into the guts of Mobile AI. We’re talking local GGUF models, autonomous agents that debug your runtime for you, and surviving the absolute chaos of the 2026 Android stack. Zero latency, zero cloud bills, and somehow, zero hype. What to Expect Back in the day, adding AI to an app meant paying a cloud provider 5 cents every time a user sneezed. What a time we lived in, but that time has passed. Welcome to the era of on-device intelligence, where your app's capabilities are entirely dependent on how well you can cram a GGUF model into local memory without melting your user's battery, backplate, and half-yellow rubber case. In this month's event, we're skipping the theoretical fluff and diving straight into the deep end of the Mobile x AI ecosystem. We will explore the current landscape of on-device models (yes, the ones currently making cloud executives nervous), how to build autonomous agents that can actually debug your app at runtime, and more. Agenda Beyond Code Gen: Building Developer Tools for AI Agents, by Shreyas Patil, Senior Android Engineer, Deliveroo, GDE Android I Deleted the Internet from My AI App, by Dishant Gandhi, AI consultant and Public speaker The Intelligent OS: AI Inside, Around, and Behind Your App, by Mansi Tanna, Senior Mobile developer, Würth IT india How to Attend Sign up using the button below, and we'll send out confirmations and QR codes by Monday, the 21st of August. Only confirmed attendees will be allowed entry at the venue.

Mumbai | Claude Conversation

Mumbai, India, Mumbai, India
In person

A small room. One big question. What does AI actually mean for how we live, work, and build here? This is a Claude Conversation, India's first. And it's our 9th flagship Claude Community event, the room where India's builders keep showing up to shape what comes next. Not a talk, not a demo. Around 30 of us, some of the brightest minds in the country, in one room, unpacking what AI changes for jobs, education, and civic life, and where the real opportunities are. Who we're looking for India's brightest minds: builders, educators, students, people working in or around public systems, and anyone genuinely thinking about where this goes next. You don't need to be technical. You need to have something to say. What we'll do Split into focused conversations around the questions that matter most: How AI reshapes the jobs of the next decade, and who's ready for them What it means for how we teach and learn Where it can strengthen civic life We'll share where AI is already helping, and surface the gaps worth solving. Why it matters This is the first half. The problems we land on here become the brief for an Impact Lab, a build day where we turn one of them into something real and deployable. This is where the conversation becomes the blueprint. Come shape what we build next. Hosted by Sumeet Doshi, India's first Claude Community Ambassador.
