HACK FOR HUMANITY: FALL 2026

Our chapter is joining Hack for Humanity, The AI Collective's global initiative running Fall 2026. It's the continuation of the Humans in AI Week conversations we held this summer, where we identified real problems in our local community... and now is our chance to build the solutions.
The schedule
30 mins· Networking
15 mins · Problem briefing
3 hours · Hack
45 mins · Demos and judging
The focus here is exactly what the name says. Every problem statement and every project should solve something local to your community, with the purpose of benefiting humanity.
All types of builders are welcome at this event. The winners of this event may be asked to showcase their products within our global newsletter with 300k+ subscribers!
RSVP below and we'll see you there.

Please be advised: Unfortunately, space is very limited at these community events and we can not always accept everyone we would like to. If you are not accepted to this event, please keep applying! We appreciate your application tremendously and we are looking forward to seeing you at a future event very soon!

Build for Impact in Gov & Civic Tech

Rancho Cordova, CA, Rancho Cordova, United States
In person

AI is moving fast, and so is the pressure to ship. In government and civic tech, that pressure collides with some of the most complex, high-stakes user bases: people navigating benefits systems, public services, and civic life, often with little margin for error. This panel is about slowing down to ask the question that's easiest to skip: who are we actually building for, and are we building it well? Panelists include: Jim Schuett - VP of Product @ Polco Andrea Nguyen - Design Director @ Koi Studios Conner Johnston - Cofounder @ Warchest Tiffany K. Martin - Executive Strategy, Culture & Performance Advisor (Moderator) We'll dig into what it means to design and build technology that creates real impact in government and civic contexts in the age of AI — where good intentions aren't enough, the users are skeptical, and the consequences of getting it wrong fall on people who can least afford it.
