Bitcoin, Explained from Scratch: What It Is and How to Take Your First Steps

Description
Bitcoin comes up in every conversation about money, and most explanations start three steps too late. This session starts at the beginning: what Bitcoin actually is, why it exists, and what sets it apart from the rest of the digital asset market. No jargon, no hype, no predictions.

In the second half we get practical. We look at how buying and holding Bitcoin works in Switzerland, from a regulated Swiss app to an exchange, and at the one distinction that matters most: whether your Bitcoin sits with a provider or in your own hands. Bring your phone if you would like to follow along. Nobody has to buy anything, the point is that the first step stops feeling like a hurdle.
Education, not investment advice.

About Lisa
Lisa Tscherry is the founder of SatoShe, an education platform for women's financial self-determination with a focus on Bitcoin. She holds an M.Sc. in Psychology from the University of Zurich and an M.Sc. in Blockchain and Digital Currency from the University of Nicosia, sits on the board of the Bitcoin Association Switzerland and lectures at HWZ. Her sessions combine the psychology of money with practical financial knowledge.
