Am I? showcases the cutting-edge research exploring whether or not our current AI systems could be, or could become, conscious. It follows one of the leading AI consciousness researchers in the world, Cameron Berg, and includes conversations with top experts in the fields of philosophy, cognitive science, and machine learning. This film asks the question of what it means when we no longer know the nature of what we've created. Come join us for a fascinating film followed by a friendly and rigorous discussion about one of the most fascinating -- and most important -- questions humanity may ever grapple with. All perspectives are welcome. Doors open at 12:45 p.m. The film will begin at 1:10. with a runtime of 1h 16m, with discussion beginning at approximately 2:30. Though you should feel free to leave at the noted end time of 3 o'clock, we have the room until 4 for those who would like an extended discussion. The Central Branch is an 8 minute walk from Virginia Square-GMU Metro Station (Orange and Silver Lines).
