Stephen Mc Gowan is a technical leader and solutions architect with 15+ years taking software and AI from inception into customers' hands, across start-ups, scale-ups and global enterprises. He is the founder of TrolleyRelay, a multi-tenant SaaS he has built solo on a fully AI-driven SDLC, and also works with large enterprises as an AI Solution Architecture Consultant, championing Claude Code and practical AI solutions. He was previously CTO at Realta Logic and My Emergency Doctor. Based in Sydney.

Local Builders. 17:30 – 18:00 | Doors Open & Networking Kick things off — meet fellow AI-curious minds, and warm up before the main program begins. 18:00 – 18:15 | Opening: Why We're Here A quick intro to set the vibe for Australia's growing Claude community! 18:15 – 18:35 | I'm a designer who can't code, and I'm shipping apps anyway — Alex Sviryda I've spent 10 years as a product designer and never learned how to code. But I've always been around products, working out what to solve and why. What I couldn't do was code and build the thing myself. Now I can, so I'm building Grocero, a grocery price comparison app for Australian supermarkets. There's a frontend for iOS and Android, a backend with scrapers, an API, and a landing page to make the marketing side work. Claude Code wrote all of it while I was orchestrating. I'll walk you through the workflow that got it there. It starts with the early idea in my head and a lot of chats with Claude the sceptic, and it ends with the specific setup I use to make sure nothing gets exposed that shouldn't be. Marketing is in there too, since I'm going after organic traffic instead of paying for ads. Spoiler alert: building turned out to be the easy part. Judgement is the hard part, and I'll show you how I make it work. Staff Product Designer at Propeller, working on geospatial software for construction industry.
