Startup Events in Millers Point

Sydney is building companies that compete globally from day one. The question isn't whether to go global. It's whether your hiring, people, and GTM infrastructure move fast enough to keep up. On Thursday 12 November, we're bringing together a small group of Sydney's most ambitious founders for a breakfast built around the four conversations every Australian scale-up hits on the path to global, and rarely has the space to work through properly. No keynotes. No sales pitches. Just four roundtable discussions, one topic per table, led by people who’ve lived global hiring from both sides. The four topics on the table 🌍 Picking your next market How to decide where to expand first, and what to sort out before you commit. 🔎 Finding and attracting the right talent abroad Where to look, how to compete with local employers, and how to hire fast without cutting corners. ⚖️ Managing compliance: contractors, EOR, or an entity When to use independent contractors, when an Employer of Record (EOR) makes sense, and when you need your own entity. 🧭 Challenges with leading a distributed team How to keep communication, culture, and accountability strong across time zones. Each table goes deep with a facilitator and peer benchmarks. Then we hear from local founders who’ve scaled globally. You’ll leave with frameworks, real data, and clarity on what the fastest scale-ups do differently. Who is this for? Sydney-based founders, CEOs, and senior People leaders at scale-ups that are hiring or expanding beyond Australia. Series A to Series C. Who’s in the room Peers from ambitious Australian scale-ups, plus facilitators who’ve lived global hiring from both sides: Hugo Mas – APAC Director, SMB Phoebe Howlett – SMB Manager, APAC Plus founder speakers sharing their global expansion stories (announced soon).
