Getting Started with Digital Dentistry: CAD/CAM Design & Milling

GC America Inc, Alsip, United States
In person

Course Description This course provides a practical introduction to digital and CAD/CAM dentistry for clinicians who are considering adopting a digital workflow or have recently begun using digital technology in their practices. Participants will review the CAD/CAM workflow, including intraoral scanning considerations, restoration design, material selection, and in-office milling. The course will provide the foundational knowledge needed to understand the workflow and begin designing restorations with greater confidence. Clinical applications will include inlays, onlays, crowns, multiple-unit restorative cases, and implant restorations. Conservative and biomimetic concepts will be discussed where relevant, including how digital workflows can improve outcomes with partial-coverage indirect restorations. During the hands-on portion, participants will receive guided experience designing indirect restorations using Ceramill Mind, an exocad-based CAD platform. The design principles and workflow covered will therefore be relevant to clinicians using or considering other exocad-based systems. The course will also review material selection and the fundamental considerations involved in in-office milling. This course is intended primarily for dentists interested in getting started with digital dentistry and those who have recently begun working with digital workflows or restoration design. No previous CAD design experience is required. About the Speaker Dr. Matt Nejad is a renowned expert in biomimetic and esthetic dentistry, practicing in Beverly Hills, CA.
