Build for Auckland: Build Night with Base44 🚀

OCT13
17:15

About this event

What can you build for Auckland in one evening?
Join Auckland AI Meetup, Startup Club NZ, and the wider Auckland startup community for a hands-on evening where we turn real problems into working apps and AI agents.
This is not an evening of sitting through talks. You’ll actually build something.
Whether you're a developer, designer, founder, student, product person, AI enthusiast—or simply someone with an idea—you’re welcome. The top five teams will pitch their solutions on stage, and the top three teams will share a NZ$1,200 prize pool.

👉 Important: Please register through the official event page to secure your place.
RSVP here: aucklandstartupweek.com/programme-2026/build-for-auckland-base-44-build-night

💡 How it works
You do not need to arrive with a team or even an idea.
We'll have real Auckland challenges submitted by the community. Pick a problem you care about, meet other participants, and form a team of up to four people.

Choose a challenge → Form a team → Build → Demo → Pitch
Teams will receive a short challenge brief and a starting Base44 prompt, then use Base44 to rapidly build a working app or AI agent.
Industry mentors will be around during the evening to help you develop the idea, solve problems, and turn your prototype into something compelling.
There will also be a short workshop exploring an important question:

You've built a prototype. Could this become a real, sustainable business?
🏆 Build it. Pitch it. Maybe keep building it.
At the end of the build session, teams submit their prototypes for judging.
The top five teams will pitch their solutions on stage, and the top three teams will share a NZ$1,200 prize pool.
🥇 NZ$600
🥈 NZ$400
🥉 NZ$200
But we don't necessarily want the journey to end when the build night finishes.

🚀 From prototype to startup — IgniteAI Founder Coaching
For members of the winning teams who want to take their idea seriously, we're also offering the opportunity to book a founder video coaching session with Ignite

Fix One Thing: Auckland | With Base44

10 Madden Street, Auckland, New Zealand · Auckland AI Meetup
In person

Bring a real life problem here. And leave with a working product. What is one thing about living, working, moving around, or building a business in Auckland that should work better? Fix One Thing: Auckland is a hands-on build session for founders, operators, executives, product people, designers, developers, AI builders, and anyone who has been sitting on an idea they want to finally turn into something real. This is not about networking around a name badge. It is about finding people who care about the same problem, building something together, and seeing how far you can take it in one afternoon. 💡 How it works When you register, you’ll be invited to submit a real problem or product idea. The strongest ideas will be collected into a live ideas board. On the day, you can browse the board, choose the problem you care about most, and find other people who picked the same one. Teams of up to four will form around shared problems. Then you build. Using Base44, your team will take the idea as far as possible during the afternoon. Once your prototype is ready, you’ll have the chance to pitch it to the judges and compete for a share of the NZ$1,200 prize pool. And if you want to take the idea even further, IgniteAI.nz can help you explore the next step through a startup founder coaching session. 👉 Important: RSVP’ing here does not replace the official Auckland Startup Week registration. Please register through the official event page to secure your place. This is an event in collaboration with Startup Week. If you want to join, please RSVP here: https://www.aucklandstartupweek.com/programme-2026/fix-one-thing-auckland-with-base44 The goal is not just a pitch deck or a throwaway prototype. The goal is to create something working that you can test, share, improve, keep building, and potentially turn into something much bigger after Auckland Startup Week. If you want to continue, you can take it to IgniteAI.nz for startup coaching to make it a real business. No coding

From Scratch Socials 🌱 Women Founder Community - Westhaven Marina Walk & Coffee Meetup

Auckland, New Zealand, Auckland, New Zealand
In person

Spring is here, the sun is out, and we’re changing things up a little! Come move your body with the From Scratch crew as we take a relaxed walk along the waterfront, followed by coffee at Lighthouse Cafe to kick-start the weekend. Expect good conversation, fresh air, and a chance to meet other women who are building, creating, changing direction, or simply figuring out what’s next. Tickets: $15, including one drink at Lighthouse Café. Your ticket helps us keep spots intentional and covers your drink. If you can no longer make it, please cancel at least 48 hours beforehand so we can offer your spot to someone else. What is From Scratch? From Scratch is a community of women starting something new whether that’s a business, side project, creative pursuit, career pivot, or simply a new chapter. We believe you shouldn’t have to figure it all out alone. We’re here to create a space where you can meet people who get it, have honest conversations, find encouragement, share ideas, and celebrate the little (and big) wins along the way. You don’t need to be a founder to join. If you’re ambitious, curious, creative, or simply craving more inspiring and encouraging conversations, you’re welcome here. If you know someone who might enjoy being part of the crew, feel free to share this invite with them. Who’s behind From Scratch? Hi :) We’re A-Chau and Katharina. We both found ourselves starting again from scratch after leaving our corporate careers, and From Scratch grew out of a desire to build the kind of community we wanted around us: supportive, genuine, and full of women figuring things out together. Looking forward to walking and grabbing a coffee with you! Stay connected Want to hear more about From Scratch, upcoming gatherings, and the women in our community? Sip & Share Networking. Be a Disco Ball with Rochelle Moffitt

Precinct Flex Britomart Place (Formerly Generator), Auckland, New Zealand
In person

WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 21 – ROCHELLE MOFFITT | Founder, Decibel & Revved Be a Disco Ball: How to create your own luck, get noticed, and light up every room you walk into Rochelle Moffitt has spent the last few years turning her own name into her business - twice starting from nothing, and twice building it back bigger. She doesn't believe luck lands on you. She believes you create it. So many of us wait to be picked, noticed, or given permission before we show up fully - but Rochelle has built her whole career doing the opposite. This conversation is about what actually makes a room remember you, why some people just seem to have all the luck (spoiler… they made it), and how to stop waiting for your moment to start. ROCHELLE MOFFITT Rochelle knows what it takes to turn an empty room - or an empty bank account - into something that lights up. She's the founder of Decibel and co-founder of Revved, and she's spent years teaching women how to be seen, remembered, and sought-after, without shrinking to do it. This session unpacks Rochelle's own framework for creating luck, walking into a room like you own it, and lighting everyone else up while you're at it. Stop waiting for luck. Start designing a life you freaking love. You need to be here. Bring a notebook. Your Access Options Sip & Share ticket: $57 Sip & Share + Breakfast Combo: $125 An exclusive seat at every Sip & Share plus a private breakfast with the speaker, Rochelle, and 14 other women after each event – 9.45–11.15am. Deeper conversations. Direct connections. Real access. First in, first seated. Cheers, Rochelle Sip & Share 2026: Conversations Worth Waking Up For Sip & Share is where caffeine meets conversation and courage takes centre stage. Each morning brings a live, unscripted conversation with Rochelle and a remarkable woman reshaping how we think, lead, and live. It is connection with substance. You'll hear real stories from women who have been through the good, the great and the getting there. Those who
