Mixed teams are encouraged. Participants should bring a laptop and charger. Please don't bring half made projects or already finished projects with you!. So the event is intended for
firmware engineers,
hardware developers,
AI builders,
makers,
students
and product designers.
Build the Agent Deck
AI agents are getting more capable, but still trapped behind a chat window. At this hands-on hardware hackathon, we will give them a physical interface.
Your challenge is to build an Agent Cockpit:
a working control deck that allows a human to monitor, command, approve, interrupt or interact with an AI agent.
Use buttons, rotary encoders, displays, LEDs, sensors, microphones, speakers, haptics or any other hardware.
Your cockpit could manage an autonomous workflow, supervise a robot, approve critical actions, display live agent status or provide a physical emergency stop.
We will provide set of parts and API integrations.
Teams of up to five participants will move from concept to working prototype during one evening.
Each team will present its project to the jury at the end of the event.
Projects will be evaluated on:
usefulness and clarity of the concept;
hardware and firmware execution;
quality of human–agent interaction;
originality;
completeness of the final demo.
Everything else will be provided.
Date: Tuesday, 9 September 2026
Time: 18:00–22:00 CEST
Location: Puzl CowOrKing, Budapest

Registration, Networking & Drinks 09:00 AM: Welcome Remarks 09:00 - Sandor Dargo - Senior Software Engineer @ Spotify | C++ Developer | Writer | Speaker Bio: Sandor Dargo is a Senior Software Engineer at Spotify, where he works with C++. He cares about writing code that stays maintainable long after it's shipped, and about helping other engineers do the same. He shares what he learns on his blog, sandordargo.com, in conference talks, and in his books, including The C++ Interview Book. Outside of work, he enjoys baking, travelling to new places, and spending time with his wife and two children. Title: The Death of Flow? How AI Changed Programming — and How to Get Joy Back Abstract: AI is changing how we code — we prompt more, type less, and review instead of create. Productivity may be up, but many developers feel the loss of flow, reduced ownership, and a sense that the craft is slipping away. What if we're looking for joy in the wrong place? This talk explores how AI reshapes the experience of programming. We'll revisit what made it fulfilling — solving problems, reducing complexity, exercising judgment — and build a new mental model where clarity and taste matter more than typing. AI changed the craft's shape, not its soul. 09:35 - Dávid Ba

Frontier Fellowship Kickoff: Building a Global TechBio Startup from Budapest

Turbine, Budapest, Hungary
In person

Frontier Fellowship Kickoff: Building a Global TechBio Startup from Budapest This is the first of three open events kicking off Frontier Fellowship, a new program by Startup Hungary for potential deep tech founders, university spin-outs, and researchers exploring what it takes to build a venture-scale company. We can only host 60 people, so this isn't first-come-first-served: register below, and we'll follow up to confirm your spot based on fit — please only register if you're genuinely planning to attend. The closed fellowship cohort is a separate thing: it starts in January 2027 and has its own selective application process (more info and application: https://frontier.startuphungary.io/ ). This first event is all about founder paths. Turbine is the hottest techbio startup in Hungary right now — and its founders came from completely different fields before building it together. We want to make the startup founder path more visible, and show that it's a valid, realistic career path — open to anyone willing to try. Best for: students, engineers, researchers, and anyone with a scientific / technical background or interest in deep tech, curious about startups — even if you're not sure yet whether it's for you. Panel Discussion: One Technology, Different Founder Paths Szabolcs Nagy (CEO, Turbine) Daniel Veres (CSO, Turbine) Kristof Szalay (CTO, Turbine) Ramzi Rizk (General Partner, Work In Progress Capital & Founder, Project Escape Velocity) Schedule 17:30–18:00 Registration 18:00–18:15 Opening + fellowship program introduction 18:15–19:15 Panel discussion 19:30-20:15 Expert table sessions 20:15–21:30 Drinks, pizza, networking 🍕 This event is part of the Frontier Fellowship program, implemented with the support of the Ministry of Science and Technology of Hungary from the National Research, Development and Innovation Fund.
