Venture Capital Software: 24 Platforms Compared

18 min readData as of 2026-07-19

Around 150 companies get named in the same breath as “VC software.” Most of them are not competing for the same budget. Some sell raw company data, some sell a CRM, some sell an investor list to founders, and a few sell scored intelligence built on top of all three. Buying the wrong category is the expensive mistake, and it happens because the marketing pages all use the same words.

This page compares 24 platforms on the same 10 capabilities, publishes what each one costs, and names who each is built for. Brouky sits in the table too. We build one of these products, so read the Brouky rows with that in mind; the capability marks for every other platform come from their own product and pricing pages, collected on 2026-07-19.

The four categories, and which one you need

Sort any tool on this page into one of four buckets before you compare features. The bucket decides the price band and the buyer.

A fund typically buys one data platform and one CRM. A founder typically buys nothing and uses two free tools. The products that try to span buckets are where the interesting comparisons live, and where most of the pricing confusion comes from.

Two shortcuts through this page

The full matrix below covers all 24. If you already know which side of the table you sit on, these two pages carry the same data filtered to your buyer, with pricing and profiles written for you:

  • VC data platforms for investors covers the 12 products a fund, corporate or angel evaluates: PitchBook, Dealroom, Harmonic, Affinity, CB Insights, Synaptic, Tracxn, Preqin, AlphaLens, Crunchbase and Seedtable.
  • Investor databases for startups covers the 13 a founder raising a round evaluates: OpenVC, Signal by NFX, Flowlie, Raise Copilot, Foundersuite, Visible Connect, Angel Match, Angels Partners, Investor Hunt, OpenStars, PitchBob and Capital Pilot.

Capability matrix: all 24 platforms

Ten capabilities, scored the same way for every product. Read down a column to see how contested a capability is. Warm-intro paths and a fundraising CRM show up almost everywhere. Entry-cheque stage inference and CEE statutory financials show up in one row.

What the columns mean

Four of the ten columns get used loosely by vendors, so here is what each one has to do to earn a ✓ in this table.

CapabilityWhat earns a ✓
Deck to ranked, explained matchesYou upload a deck or a URL and get investors back ordered by fit, each with a written reason. A filter that returns an unordered list scores ◐ at best.
Proprietary investor scoreA numeric score rating the investor. Most platforms score startups instead (Dealroom Signal, Crunchbase Heat, Seedtable momentum, Synaptic Growth Score, PitchBook Exit Predictor), which scores ◐ here.
Entry-cheque stage inferenceDistinguishing where a fund writes its first cheque from where it merely appears on a cap table. A seed fund that follows its winners into Series C reads as late-stage on naive participation counts.
Pre-built co-investment graphA relationship graph that exists before you connect anything. Affinity, Harmonic and Signal build a graph from your own inbox, calendar or LinkedIn, so it starts empty and reaches only as far as your contacts. That scores ◐.

Reading the matrix

Three patterns come out of the columns. First, the left side of the table is commoditised: an investor database, a company graph and a fundraising CRM ship in most products, including free ones. Treat those as hygiene rather than a reason to pick anything.

Second, warm-intro paths look widely available and are not the same product. Signal by NFX, Affinity and Harmonic all compute intro paths from your own network, which means a new user starts with nothing and a well-connected user starts with plenty. A graph built from public co-investment history works on day one for a founder with no network at all. Both approaches earn a mark in the table. They solve different problems.

Third, the two right-hand columns stay empty across the set. No competitor in this comparison infers entry-cheque stage, and none holds Czech or CEE statutory financials. Beauhurst proves the filed-accounts model works, though it covers the UK and Germany rather than Central Europe.

Pricing across all 24

11 of the 24 rows carry at least one third-party estimate, because those vendors gate pricing behind a demo. Those rows are marked. Every unmarked figure comes from a published pricing page.

The pricing pattern

Price tracks the buyer, not the capability. Products sold to founders cluster between free and $99 per month, because a founder mid-raise has no budget and every competitor has a free tier. Products sold to funds start around €12,600 per year and run past $100,000 for an enterprise PitchBook contract. The same underlying data can appear on both sides of that gap.

Two consequences follow. If you are a founder, paying more than $99 a month for investor data means you are buying a service, not software: Flowlie’s Quill retainer starts at $7,500 a month and Angels Partners runs outreach for $599 to $999. If you run an emerging fund, the institutional tier prices you out, and the interesting options sit in the $2,000 to $12,000 band where Affinity, Crunchbase Business and Brouky live.

Who each platform is built for

The mismatch that wastes the most time: a founder trialling a tool whose paying customers are all corporates, or a fund trialling a product designed for a founder mid-raise.

All 24 platforms in detail

What each product does, where it beats the rest of this list, and the capability it leaves on the table.

01

Brouky

brouky.tech

Brouky keeps investor-to-startup membership separate from investor-to-deal participation, then derives co-investment networks, syndicates, lead-follow patterns and intro paths from that graph. A 140-point score rates investor quality, and a 200-point twin-matching engine ranks investors against a deck and explains each result. Czech and CEE statutory accounts are parsed from public registries and reconciled against recorded deals.

Strongest atRanking which investors to approach, with the reasoning shown, and routing an intro through a graph you did not have to build yourself.
Doesn't doBrouky is intelligence-first, not a system of record. The CRM is light: pipeline stages and direct messaging, without automated multi-touch sequences or deck-open tracking.
Entry price

Two-sided: founders and investment firms (per-entity subscriptions)
02

Dealroom

dealroom.co

Dealroom covers 3M+ companies with a 0–100 company Signal score, a Sector Signal heat ranking, government ecosystem portals and quarterly country reports. It also runs founder-side investor matching with warm-intro discovery. Pricing is published, which is rare in this tier.

Strongest atEuropean ecosystem coverage and the government or corporate buyer who needs a citable source of record.
Doesn't doNo deck-upload matching, no explicit deal-participation graph, no entry-cheque inference, and no statutory financials.
Entry price
Premium €12,600/yr (3 seats)
Buyer
Institutional and public sector
03

PitchBook

pitchbook.com

PitchBook holds around 6M companies and 570k investors with deep financials, cap tables, benchmarks, a VC Exit Predictor and Excel, PowerPoint and CRM plugins. On raw data depth it leads the set. It sits in a price band most emerging managers and every founder will skip.

Strongest atDiligence and benchmarking work at a fund with a real data budget.
Doesn't doPriced out of the founder and emerging-manager segment, not founder-facing, no deck matching or intro pathing, and generic scoring rather than region-tuned.
Entry price
Roughly $15k–20k/yr for a single seat (est.)
Buyer
Institutional
04

Crunchbase

crunchbase.com

Crunchbase covers around 4M companies with funding rounds, CB Rank, a 0–100 Heat Score, funding-likelihood predictions, a Chrome extension and CRM enrichment. It is the cheapest way to get broad coverage and the most widely recognised name on this list.

Strongest atQuick lookups, broad momentum signals, and a price anyone can approve.
Doesn't doIt predicts whether a company raises, not which investors fit a specific deck, and European statutory depth is shallow.
Entry price
Pro about $49/mo billed annually (~$588/yr)
Buyer
Prosumer and enterprise
05

Harmonic

harmonic.ai

Harmonic indexes 30M+ companies and 190M+ people and refreshes faster than anything else in the category. Its Scout agent handles semantic sourcing and outreach, and it maps networks from a team's inbox, calendar and LinkedIn. A $100M Series B funds the crawl.

Strongest atCatching a company early, before it shows up in the databases everyone else reads.
Doesn't doCompany-centric and US-tilted, with no numeric investor-fit score, no deck-to-investor matching and no statutory financials.
Entry price
About $25,000/yr minimum (est.)
Buyer
Sourcing and scouting teams
06

Affinity

affinity.co

Affinity captures activity automatically, scores relationship strength, manages dealflow lists, ships a Salesforce product and hosts an MCP server. Its graph comes from the firm's own inbox and calendar, so it reflects relationships the team already has.

Strongest atRunning a fund's daily dealflow workflow and surfacing who on the team already knows a target.
Doesn't doThe graph is empty on day one and never reaches beyond the firm's own contacts. No founder-side matching, no investor-fit score, no external market graph.
Entry price
Essential $2,000/user/yr
Buyer
Enterprise, per fund
07

Synaptic

synaptic.com

Synaptic tracks 100+ real-time metrics per company: web traffic, headcount, app data, GitHub activity. It computes a proprietary Growth Score and runs PortfolioIQ for AI portfolio monitoring. Company-signal depth beats most of this list.

Strongest atWatching a growth-stage company's live operating signals between rounds.
Doesn't doIt scores company growth, not investors. No relationship graph, no founder matching, and coverage thins out on small companies in non-English markets.
Entry price
Not published
Buyer
Institutional funds (enterprise)
08

CB Insights

cbinsights.com

CB Insights pairs a company database with heavy analyst research: market maps, sector reports and the Mosaic score, which predicts startup momentum from web traffic, hiring, press sentiment, app ratings and patent filings. Corporates buy it as much for the research as the data.

Strongest atCorporate strategy and market-map work where the written research carries the value.
Doesn't doMosaic scores companies, not investor fit. No founder-side matching and no relationship graph.
Entry price

Buyer
Enterprise
09

Seedtable

seedtable.com

Seedtable runs a 0–100 company momentum score and four vertical LLM agents, including a founder-side Raise matcher. Its scale sits close to Brouky's: roughly 15k investors and 71k–81k startups depending on which page you read. Positioning leans on discover, score and track.

Strongest atEuropean startup lead generation for a sales or BD team.
Doesn't doIts scores rate startups, not investor fit. Matching is heuristic rather than a scored engine, and there is no relationship graph, intro pathing or statutory data.
Entry price
Not published
Buyer
B2B lead generation, plus light intelligence
10

OpenVC

openvc.app

OpenVC ships a verified investor database of roughly 16.7k funds, a free CRM, deck engagement analytics, AI outreach emails, an inbox-based Intro Finder and a slide-by-slide AI deck review. Premium at $99/mo mainly lifts the 5-per-day outreach cap. Most of the product costs nothing.

Strongest atCasting a wide net for free, with automated follow-ups and deck-open tracking.
Doesn't doFilter search rather than ranked and explained matching. Intro paths reach only as far as your own inbox, and there is no investor-side product or scoring.
Entry price
Free forever

11

Signal by NFX

signal.nfx.com

Signal routes the strongest warm intro to any target investor by walking a 3M-edge Gmail and LinkedIn graph, across roughly 32k investor profiles. It adds curated sector and stage rankings and a light CRM. NFX runs it free as top-of-funnel for the fund.

Strongest atFinding who in your own network can introduce you to a specific partner, at no cost.
Doesn't doThe graph is personal, so it is worth only as much as your existing network. No deck AI, no scoring, no company data.
Entry price

Buyer

12

Flowlie

flowlie.com

Flowlie computes a fit score from 40+ criteria covering portfolio fit and conflicts, investment velocity and partner-level behaviour. It adds a data-room one-pager, dilution tools and a deck analyzer. The company is mid-rebrand toward Quill, a back-office retainer at a very different price point.

Strongest atA US founder who wants an algorithmic fit score and the round-modelling tools around it.
Doesn't doThe fit score arrives without the reasoning or a funding benchmark behind it. Intro mapping runs on your personal network, and there is no investor-side product or CEE data.
Entry price
Free, or Pro around $60/mo (some sources cite $49–99)
Buyer
Founder self-serve, moving to a premium concierge
13

Raise Copilot

raisecopilot.com

Upload a deck and Gemini scores it slide by slide, then 30 to 50 investors come back scored on fit with written reasons. Committed tickets flow into an integrated cap table. The product is free while it stays in beta.

Strongest atA fast, free, explained first pass on a deck when you have no list at all.
Doesn't doThe investor database is crowd-sourced, matching spans dozens rather than tens of thousands of funds, and there is no co-investment graph or intro routing.
Entry price
$0 (beta)
Buyer
Founder self-serve
14

Foundersuite

foundersuite.com

Foundersuite pairs an investor database in the 216k–230k range with a mature fundraising CRM, deck tracking, investor updates and a Get Intro feature. It also serves emerging GPs raising their own funds, though founders remain the main buyer.

Strongest atRunning the raise itself: pipeline, updates, documents, follow-ups.
Doesn't doThe database is a flat contact list rather than a scored graph. No matching engine, no investor score, no stage inference.
Entry price
Basic $0 (75 investors per pipeline)
Buyer
Founder self-serve
15

Angels Partners

angelspartners.com

Angels Partners sells access to an investor list with campaign tooling, a LinkedIn plugin on higher tiers, and a managed tier where their team runs outreach for you. Pricing sources disagree on the exact tier boundaries.

Strongest atFounders who would rather pay someone to run the outreach than run it themselves.
Doesn't doA flat contact list with no scoring, no relationship graph and no matching engine.
Entry price
Basic from $79/yr (100 investors and pings)
Buyer
Founder self-serve plus managed service
16

Angel Match

angelmatch.io

Angel Match sells filtered access to investor contacts with a light CRM on top. Published tier structures vary between the vendor site and third-party reviews, so confirm the current plan before buying.

Strongest atGetting a contact list quickly without an annual commitment.
Doesn't doContacts only. No scoring, no graph, no matching, no intro paths.
Entry price
Basic $59/mo (up to 100 investors)
Buyer
Founder self-serve
17

Investor Hunt

investorhunt.co

Investor Hunt is the thinnest product in the set and the cheapest: a large contact list, filters and an export cap that scales with the tier. There is no CRM layer.

Strongest atBuying a bulk contact export on a small budget.
Doesn't doNo CRM, no scoring, no graph, no matching. Export caps bite quickly.
Entry price
Free limited tier; paid reportedly starts around $33 (est.)
Buyer
Founder self-serve
18

OpenStars

openstars.io

OpenStars meters matching by credits, from 5 free per month up to unlimited on Pro, and bundles a CRM and community. Its coverage and performance numbers are self-reported, with little third-party verification available.

Strongest atA very cheap monthly plan when you only need a handful of matches.
Doesn't doThin database, self-reported metrics, and no graph, scoring or stage inference.
Entry price
Free (5 matches/mo)
Buyer
Founder self-serve plus community
19

PitchBob

pitchbob.io

PitchBob generates decks, business plans and outreach documents from a chat, then matches the idea against a top-50 drawn from a 150k-investor database. One-time pricing from $29.90 puts it below every subscription on this list. Accelerators white-label it.

Strongest atTurning a raw idea into a deck and a first investor list, cheaply, in one sitting.
Doesn't doMatching arrives unexplained. No relationship graph, no investor score, no statutory data. The buyer is earlier-stage than the rest of this set.
Entry price
Advanced $29.90 one-time
Buyer
Consumer and prosumer, plus B2B2C
20

Visible Connect

visible.vc

Visible is strongest after the round closes: investor updates, dashboards, data rooms and pipeline tracking. The free Connect directory lists roughly 19k funds and withholds contact emails by design. The investor product handles portfolio monitoring.

Strongest atReporting to investors you already have, on a schedule, without building it yourself.
Doesn't doNo matching engine, no scoring, no relationship graph and no statutory data. The directory is a lead magnet rather than the product.
Entry price
Connect free; Core $99/mo
Buyer
Two-sided
21

Deckmatch / AlphaLens

alphalens.ai

AlphaLens parses decks with vision LLMs, runs thesis semantic search over 250k companies, and sends GPT-4o research agents out with per-datapoint confidence and citations. Custom scoring rubrics push results into Affinity or Attio. Deckmatch rebranded to AlphaLens.

Strongest atA fund drowning in inbound that wants every deck scored against its thesis automatically.
Doesn't doIt matches companies to an investor's thesis, the opposite direction to founder-to-investor matching, and holds no relationship graph or intro routing.
Entry price
Around $1,000/mo (est.)

Capital Pilot produces a roughly 24-page dual rating on a startup's investability, then auto-invests in top-rated companies through its Boost Fund. A free Crunchbase-powered matcher sits alongside. Ratings are human-assisted rather than fully computed.

Preqin

How to choose

Start from the job rather than the feature list.

You are raising a round

Run a free tool first. Signal by NFX costs nothing and tells you who in your network can reach a specific partner. OpenVC costs nothing and gives you a large filterable list plus deck-open tracking. Add a ranked, explained shortlist when the free lists stop telling you who to prioritise, which usually happens around the point where you have 300 plausible names and time for 40 conversations. The founder-side comparison goes deeper, and our guide to building an investor target list covers the method behind it.

You run a fund and need coverage

Dealroom publishes its pricing and leads on European coverage. PitchBook goes deeper on financials and benchmarks at three to five times the cost. Tracxn covers emerging markets that both of them thin out on. Compare them side by side in the investor-side comparison.

You run a fund and need to source

Harmonic catches companies earliest. AlphaLens scores your inbound against your thesis. Synaptic watches live operating metrics on companies you already track. These three rarely replace each other.

You need the workflow, not the data

Affinity owns this. Its graph is internal and starts empty, which is the trade for automatic activity capture and a relationship score across your whole firm. Foundersuite does the founder-side equivalent for a fraction of the price.

Where Brouky fits

Brouky is an investor-intelligence platform: the investor is the primary subject; founders use the same graph in reverse. The database covers 36,000+ investors, 84,000+ startups and 100,000+ funding rounds across 130+ countries.

Four things in the matrix belong to Brouky alone in this set. The co-investment graph is pre-built from public deal history rather than reconstructed from your inbox, so it routes an intro for a founder with no network. Entry-cheque stage inference reports the smallest set of rounds covering at least 80% of a fund’s first cheques, which corrects the seed fund that looks late-stage because it followed its winners. Czech and CEE statutory accounts come from the public registry and reconcile against recorded deals. And the same graph serves both sides: founders get ranked investor matching, investors get portfolio intelligence, market reports and a network map.

The honest gap sits in the CRM column, where Brouky scores ◐. Pipeline stages and direct messaging work; automated multi-touch sequences and deck-open tracking do not exist. If a drip campaign is what you need, OpenVC or Foundersuite does it better.

You can check the underlying data before signing up for anything. The investor directory, startup directory and country pages are open without an account.

Method and caveats

This comparison triaged roughly 150 named companies into competitors, data sources and adjacent tooling, then built a feature-level dossier on the products with real overlap, drawn from about ninety public sources: product pages, pricing pages, documentation and third-party reviews. Collection date: 2026-07-19.

Several figures resist verification. Pricing for demo-gated vendors (PitchBook per seat, Harmonic, Synaptic, Seedtable, Investor Hunt, AlphaLens) comes from third-party sources and is marked as an estimate. Coverage counts disagree across vendors’ own pages: Harmonic publishes both 30M and 35M companies, Dealroom both 100k and 225k investors, Seedtable both 71k and 81k startups, Foundersuite both 216k and 230k investors. Flowlie is mid-rebrand to Quill with two pricing models running at once. Deckmatch became AlphaLens. Raise Copilot has not announced post-beta pricing. OpenStars’ metrics are self-reported and were discounted here.

Frequently asked questions

What is venture capital software?

The term covers four different product categories that get lumped together. Investor data platforms (PitchBook, Dealroom, Crunchbase, Tracxn) sell coverage of companies, rounds and funds. Sourcing engines (Harmonic, Synaptic, AlphaLens) surface and score companies before they are widely known. Relationship CRMs (Affinity, Foundersuite) run the daily dealflow workflow. Founder-side matching tools (OpenVC, Flowlie, Signal by NFX, Brouky) help a startup find and reach the right investors. Most buyers need two of the four, not one product that claims all four.

What is the cheapest venture capital database?

Free tiers exist at Signal by NFX ($0, no paid tier), OpenVC (free forever, Premium $99/mo), Foundersuite (free at 75 investors per pipeline) and Brouky. Among paid-only products, Crunchbase Pro at around $49/mo billed annually is the cheapest broad database. Investor Hunt reportedly starts near $33/mo but does not publish per-tier pricing.

How much does PitchBook cost compared to the alternatives?

PitchBook does not publish pricing. Third-party sources put a single seat around $15,000 to $20,000 per year, roughly $25,000 for three users, and enterprise contracts from $70,000 upward. Dealroom publishes €12,600 per year for three seats, which makes it the cheapest institutional option with transparent pricing. Harmonic is estimated near $25,000 per year minimum. Below that band, Crunchbase Business runs about $2,388 per year and Affinity starts at $2,000 per user per year. Treat every unpublished figure as an estimate.

Which venture capital platform has the best European coverage?

Dealroom is the recognised source of record for European ecosystem data and sells to governments and corporates on that basis. Seedtable leans European as well. For Central and Eastern Europe specifically, Brouky parses Czech statutory accounts from the public registry (revenue by fiscal year, equity, debt, paid-in capital, cap tables and ownership over time) and reconciles them against recorded deals, which none of the other platforms in this comparison hold.

Do any of these platforms serve founders and investors in the same product?

Three of the twenty-four do. Brouky runs founder-side investor matching and investor-side portfolio intelligence on one graph. Visible Connect pairs founder investor-relations tooling with a VC portfolio-monitoring product. Signal by NFX technically serves both, though its main job is routing warm intros for founders. Everything else picks a side.

Are the prices in this comparison verified?

Published list prices come from vendor pricing pages. Demo-gated vendors, including PitchBook, Harmonic, Synaptic, Seedtable and AlphaLens, do not publish figures, so those rows carry third-party estimates and are marked "est." in the pricing table. Figures were collected on 2026-07-19 and vendors change pricing without notice. Confirm with the vendor before you buy.
