- Germany accounts for 50% more Series A deals than France
- Netherlands has a median Series A round 8% larger than France
- France holds the highest share of Series A rounds relative to total deals
Across the 2,711 Series A rounds tracked by Brouky in the Netherlands, Germany, and France, Germany dominates deal volume with 1,365 rounds — roughly half the total and 42% more than France's 960 deals. This trend may partly reflect expanding data coverage over time.
Germany's median round size at €12.8M is only modestly higher than France's €11.3M and the Netherlands' €11.0M. The Netherlands, while having the smallest deal count at 386, posts a median of €11.0M — the lowest of the three, though only 14% below Germany's.
MEDIAN SERIES A ROUND SIZE BY COUNTRY
Looking at the share of Series A rounds relative to total deals within each country, France leads with 25.6%, followed by the Netherlands at 22.9%, and Germany at 22.6%. This indicates that Series A rounds make up a larger portion of France's venture activity compared to the other two countries.
Year-over-year median round sizes also reveal growth, with median Series A rounds increasing from €7.0M in 2019 to over €18.3M in 2026.
