Across the 3,944 seed-stage deals tracked by Brouky in Germany and France from 2021 to 2024, the Finance & Blockchain sector experienced the largest decline in funding share, dropping 4.1 percentage points from 12.8% to 8.7%. This decline is the most pronounced change among all sectors and highlights a notable shift in early-stage investor preferences, though these share shifts may partly reflect expanding data coverage.

Meanwhile, Healthcare & Life Sciences seed funding share increased by 0.9 percentage points, rising from 13.3% to 14.2%. This gain, although smaller than the Finance sector's loss, positions Healthcare as a sector gaining momentum in these markets. Notably, Healthcare rounds had a median size of approximately €9.19 million, which is among the highest median round sizes across sectors.

MEDIAN SEED ROUND SIZE BY SECTOR (EUR)

Energy, Environment & Mobility gained the largest share increase at 3.8 percentage points, growing from 7.9% to 11.7% of seed funding, with a median round size of €7.06 million. This sector's growth also corresponds with a rise in deal counts from 141 to 254 seed deals, reflecting expanding investor interest beyond Healthcare.

Median round sizes further emphasize sector distinctions, with Healthcare & Life Sciences and Industry & Hardware both near €9.1 million, contrasting with Finance & Blockchain’s median round size of about €8.9 million.
