Across the 235 seed rounds Brouky tracks in France in 2024, the median round size was €3 million. The following year, the number of seed deals tracked rose to 302, marking a 28.5% increase in deal count, which may partly reflect expanding data coverage, while the median seed round size held steady at €3 million. While more startups secured seed funding, the average capital per deal did not expand.
In contrast, Series A rounds showed a simultaneous increase in both deal count and median round size. Series A deals grew from 147 in 2024 to 202 in 2025, which may partly reflect expanding data coverage, and the median round size increased from €11.04 million to approximately €11.94 million, an 8% rise. This indicates a strengthening in Series A funding scale alongside expanding seed activity.
SEED VERSUS SERIES A DEAL COUNT IN FRANCE 2024-2025
The stability of seed round sizes at €3 million across these two years contrasts with the more dynamic changes in later stages, where Series B and Series C+ medians also showed notable differences. For example, median Series B round size decreased slightly from €27.25 million in 2024 to €26 million in 2025, while Series C+ median round size increased from €45.7 million to €57 million.
