AUG13
17:00
  • This event discusses how to claim R&D tax credits when using AI tools such as Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, and Google Antigravity for research and development.
  • It is aimed at startups and companies leveraging AI in innovation to understand fiscal incentives.
  • Participants will learn about the intersection of AI-driven R&D and government credit policies in Montreal.

About this event

The Great Firewall of Canada

Le Bon Vieux Temps, Montreal, Canada · Bitcoin Montreal
In person

The Great Firewall of Canada — Fireside Panel Four bills. One system of control. A wave of new federal legislation is quietly reshaping what Canadians can say, do, and spend online — and most people haven't connected the dots. Join Bitcoin Montréal for a fireside chat unpacking how these bills work together as one machine: Bill C-9 — criminalizing speech, and even emotion, online Bill C-22 — mass metadata surveillance, with "metadata" left conveniently undefined Bill C-34 — a digital ID built through social-media bans and vague age-verification rules, plus a new Digital Safety Commission to regulate the Canadian internet Bill C-8 — the power to cut anyone deemed a "threat" off the network entirely We'll dig into what's actually written in these bills, what's been left undefined, and why that matters for your privacy and free expression. The panel: Nico Lagan — sales engineer turned broadcaster, host of the Political Orphans Toufic Adlouni — lawyer focused on emerging tech and digital assets Moderated by Margie Ramos — host of the Original & Unconventional podcast When: Wednesday, September 16 · 6:00–9:00 PM Where: Le Bon Vieux Temps, 2051B St-Denis, Montréal, QC Format: Panel · Cocktails · Networking Sponsored by Bull Bitcoin and Éclair BTC.
