FRAMES is born inside the worlds that cinema builds. Light, costumes, spaces and gestures all work together to give shape to a story. Lucia Iuorio shoots within the sacredness of those spaces, in the brief gap of time in which the set quickly transforms and becomes human territory again. The project brings together images taken on set and staged photographs, searching for the moment when a scene stops belonging only to the story it tells and becomes an image in its own right. Lucia Iuorio's photography is rooted in storytelling and moves between observing a scene and constructing an image. Her gaze focuses on the characters and the spaces they inhabit, in search of images that can live on beyond the story they come from. FRAMES creates a visual narrative suspended between cinema and photography. These are shots that give the audience the character, and give the actor back the part of themselves they surrendered to it. We make visibile what is still invisible direct-to-digital.com
