BikeBus: Inner City to Open Langa
BikeBus: Inner City to Open Langa Join Friends of the Active Mobility Forum (AMF) for a special BikeBus from Cape Town's inner city to Open Langa on Sunday, 25 October 2026! Taking place on the final day of Design Week South Africa and during October Transport Month, we're bringing cyclists together for a group ride connecting the inner city, Observatory and Langa. Our destination is Open Langa, a community-led Open Streets celebration championed by Langa Bicycle Hub and its partners. For the day, sections of Langa's streets will be transformed into car-free public spaces filled with music, art, cycling, community activities and local businesses. The BikeBus is an opportunity to experience Cape Town by bicycle, connect with fellow riders and support the movement for safer, more accessible and people-friendly streets. We'll travel together, with a stop in Observatory to welcome more cyclists before continuing to Langa. After spending the afternoon at Open Langa, we'll ride back to the inner city as a group. Route and schedule for Sunday, 25 October 2026 11:00 | Meet at A33, 7 Orphan Street, Cape Town CBD 11:30 | BikeBus departs from A33 12:00 | Arrive at Rook Cycles / Cycles Works, Observatory 12:10 | Depart Observatory for Langa 12:40 | Arrive at Open Langa, Open Streets celebration 12:40 to 15:00 | Enjoy Open Langa, explore the activities and support local businesses 15:00 | Depart Langa for the return ride 15:30 | Arrive at Rook Cycles / Cycles Works, Observatory, and continue towards the CBD 16:00 ish | Arrive back in Cape Town's inner city. Ride ends. All are welcome.Bring your bicycle, helmet, water and some spending money to support local businesses in Langa.
