Drawing on her work inside the Obama White House, 10 Downing Street, and AI systems used by millions of people, she makes the case that democratic renewal deserves the same ambition we give to space exploration or curing disease. She previously worked in the Obama White House as the first U.S. Deputy Chief Technology Officer and advised leaders including Chancellor Angela Merkel and 10 Downing Street on modernizing government. She holds an A.B. from Harvard University, a Ph.D. from the University of Innsbruck, and a J.D. from Yale Law School.
