Deep Tech Club - Scientists' Founder Journey. Panel with SURFACTO, VitaSeq and AnoriTech

OCT5
17:00 · Europe / Berlin

About this event

What does it actually take to turn deep scientific and technological expertise into a company?
At our next Deep Tech Club on 5 October, we’ll hear from three founders who are doing exactly that – building companies around deep knowledge and technology, with different paths into entrepreneurship:
Dr. Jacqueline De Lora, SURFACtoBioTech – scientist turned entrepreneur in droplet-based biotechnology (surfacto.com/ )
Dr. Sanaz Bahari Javan, VitaSeq – scientist and founder developing technology for the early detection of Alzheimer’s disease (vitaseq.com/ )
Anina Tietjens, Anori Tech – business expert building a battery-tech startup together with engineers (anoritech.com/en/index.html )
Together, we’ll explore what happens when scientific expertise and technology meet entrepreneurship. Rather than focusing only on the technologies, we want to talk about the realities of building the companies around them: finding markets and customers, financing, scaling, building the right team and making difficult entrepreneurial decisions – as well as their experiences of building deep-tech companies here in Hamburg.
For scientists, it’s a chance to get an inside perspective on what a founder journey can actually look like – and to explore where your own expertise or technology could take you. For investors, it’s an opportunity to connect with scientists and gain access to Hamburg’s research and deep-tech community.
And of course, we want your questions too. The moderated conversation will include plenty of time for Q&A, followed by pizza, drinks and networking.
Date: 5 October 2026
Time: 17:00 | Session starts at 17:15
Location: Start-up Labs Bahrenfeld, Luruper Hauptstraße 1, Hamburg
The Deep Tech Club connects Hamburg’s science and investment communities around deep tech. Whether entrepreneurship is already on your radar or you’re simply curious about what it could mean for your research and expertise, we’d love to have you join us.

agentic coffee

Mittelweg 130, Hamburg, Germany
In person

Sunday morning at Espresso House — coffee and conversations about AI agents Once a month we meet at Espresso House on Mittelweg and talk about building with AI agents. No talks, no demos, no stage. How it works At 10, we do a quick round. Everyone answers two questions: what have you learned about AI agents recently, and what do you want to talk about today? Where you work and what you're building is explicitly not the point — we're after insights and whatever is currently on your mind. The topics that come out of that round become the rest of the morning. When several people find a topic interesting, we say so and split off into a small group. A table over, its own corner, for as long as it holds. If nothing fits, just move to another group. What we talk about The things that never make it into a repo: why you rebuilt your orchestrator for the third time, which pattern quietly fell apart after two weeks, what you're stuck on, where you're headed. Telling, asking, thinking further. If someone turns their laptop around to show something, great — it's just not planned. Who it's for People who work with AI agents rather than just read about them. Claude Code, your own multi-agent setups, orchestration, whatever your stack is. Just getting started? The Beginner Boot-up is the better entry point. Good to know Where: Espresso House, Mittelweg 130 Cost: none. You pay for your own coffee. Language: English important: can't make it? please update your RSVP. chronic no-shows lose their free spot next time. thanks! 🦫🦫🦫🦫🦫🦫🦫🦫🦫🦫🦫🦫🦫🦫🦫🦫 P.S. if your beaver brain loves building and hates selling, same.
