Build Night: Demos, Collabs & Open Source in Practice

AUG26
18:00
  • This event features collaborative project demonstrations and group experiments by members of the Auckland AI Collective.
  • It is for builders and developers interested in hands-on involvement in open source and AI projects.
  • Attendees can share ideas, find collaborators, and contribute directly to ongoing work in a casual setting.

About this event

A fortnightly, hands-on session focused on the projects the Auckland AI Collective is actually building — together.

Each session centres on demonstrations of what members are working on. Expect live demos, group experiments, and the occasional "let's just try it and see what happens" moment — so come ready to get involved, not just watch. Some parts may invite your participation; none of it is polished or precious.

The tone is casual and informal\- eat dinner\, drink\, and enjoy\. This is a place to share ideas\, get feedback\, find collaborators\, and turn "someone should build that" into an actual repo\.

What we cover will vary week to week depending on what people bring and what the group is curious about — the constant is the room: builders comparing notes and starting things together.

This is for you if you want to get directly and personally involved in group projects, collaborations, and open source.

See what we're already building on GitHub: github.com/auckland-ai-collective

Bring a project, a problem, an idea, or just yourself.

After this session we can hang out as long as we like at the restaurant if you want to keep the conversation going and connect with other professionals.
