Atlassian for Startups: Demo Night

NOV4
17:00

About this event

CALLING ALL BUILDERS!
If you wish to demo your product, please fill out this form here: Open Google Form

A curated evening of production-grade AI demos built by founders, engineers, and researchers. The focus is on real systems: working agents, automation layers, developer tools, and vertical applications that deliver observable impact. Atlassian is hosting this event and will share a bit of information about the Atlassian for Startups program but the demo lineup spans far beyond the Atlassian ecosystem. The objective is to showcase the most credible, high-leverage applied AI work happening in the community.
Preferred demo types.
Product born out of AI-native startups: a product invented out of an organisation with artificial intelligence as it core foundational architecture, operating model, and value proposition
Autonomous or semi-autonomous systems operating on real data with minimal human steering.
Workflow automation that removes coordination steps in product, engineering, ops, or support.
Developer tools that accelerate understanding, coding, testing, or deployment.
Knowledge systems that turn unstructured inputs into reliable, actionable outputs.
Multi-agent coordination with clear delegation and error-handling behavior.
As always, food and drink, engaging conversation, and incredible company will all be provided!
Demo List: we will select 5 demo among the people keen to share (apply here). Note that everyone is welcome to attend and network!
Please be advised: Space is limited at these events and we can not always accept everyone we would like to. If you are not accepted to this event, please keep applying! We appreciate your application tremendously and we are looking forward to seeing you at a future event very soon!

Sydney Tech Pickleball

House of Pickle - Darling Harbour, Sydney, Australia
In person

IMPORTANT - we start at 6:30PM tonight, not 6PM. A relaxed weekly pickleball session for Sydney tech workers to connect, play and sweat a little. We are on courts 5 and 6 and you'll rotate courts and partners. A healthy way to wind up your Tuesday! Many people are beginners and don't know each other yet, so don't worry about that. If you have any questions, just message the WhatsApp group. Logistics Get your tickets via Luma. You can buy for yourself and your friends too. All paddles and balls are provided. There are showers available at ICC, in the carpark level. Cancellations You can cancel within 24 hours of the event - you'll get a credit to attend a future session. Send a WhatsApp message to Tim to cancel. If it's very wet, we'll cancel it and you'll get a credit for a future session - we'll notify this through Luma via email and also our WhatsApp group. We'll make this call on the morning. Pickleball Basic Rules & Scoring Before your first time playing, please check out this 5-min video which covers the basic rules and scoring: https://youtu.be/pDDwZgepQeE We'll use traditional scoring rules with games up to 11 (you need to win by 2 points). Beginner Tips Don't worry about looking silly - everyone does at the beginning. Before you serve, make sure you say the score, otherwise you will quickly lose track of it. Try to notice your most common mistake to improve that. Try to get to the kitchen line quickly - don't hang back at the base line like tennis. The serve has to be under arm 'in an upward arc' - so no downward slicing, tennis style serve or side arms. The rule everyone forgets is that the ball has to land once on each side (two-bounce rule) before you can start volleying - so remember 'Serve and Stay' and 'Return and Run'. General Etiquette It's just a social game for a bit of fun, so let's keep it friendly. After each game ends, change it up - e.g. swap your partner, swap courts etc. If anyone is waiting to play, they get priority to play the next game.

Killing CVEs at the Source: Supply Chain Security in Practice

Cuscal Limited, Sydney, Australia · CNCF Cloud Native Sydney chapter (formerly DevSecOps Sydney)
In person

Join us for an evening of insightful talks, valuable connections, and great company. One evening on what it actually takes to secure a software supply chain, from hardened container images through to what this looks like inside a regulated environment. Talk 1 - Engineering for a World Where Exploits Arrive Before the Advisory Speaker: Cameron Martin (Chainguard) Most teams meet their supply chain problem downstream, as a scanner report full of criticals and a patching queue that never empties. This talk looks at the other end of the pipeline: what changes when images are built minimal and rebuilt continuously, so vulnerabilities are removed at the source rather than triaged after they land in production. We'll cover the practical patterns teams are using for container hardening, how this plays with SBOMs, signing and provenance, and where it fits alongside your existing scanning and admission controls. Plus a forward look at the Chainguard roadmap and what's coming next. Talk 2 - Supply Chain Security in a Regulated Environment Speaker: Brad McCoy (Cuscal) The theory is one thing, running it inside an Australian financial services business is another. Brad shares what this looks like in practice at Cuscal: the platform decisions, the trade offs, and how container security and compliance requirements actually get met day to day without grinding delivery to a halt. An honest look at what worked, what didn't, and what he'd do differently. This is a relaxed, highly interactive evening built for platform engineers, security engineers, DevSecOps leaders and architects who are actively working through supply chain risk, container hardening and compliance. On the night: Free entry · Food & drinks · Networking · Live Q&A Seats are limited - RSVP to save your spot. See you there! 👋
