AI Automation for Working Professionals: Essentials (Beginner)

AUG11
18:00
  • This event teaches working professionals to set up and use Claude Code, an AI assistant that improves email and document workflows.
  • Participants learn to build a personal AI helper tailored to their communication style and workplace needs.
  • It is designed for beginners who want practical skills to save time and gain confidence using AI in their daily work.

About this event

You've probably tried AI before, to rewrite an email, summarise a document, or deal with admin.
Sometimes it was impressive. Sometimes it missed the point.
Most of the time, you still had to clean it up yourself.
Claude Code helps you build a personalised assistant that understands your context, writes closer to your voice, and supports the everyday tasks that quietly drain your time.

What You'll Do

Set up Claude Code from scratch, no background needed, no subscriptions to sort out beforehand.
Connect a live inbox and have it draft replies in your voice and sign-off style.
Build a 'second brain', a personal context file so it never forgets how you work.
Walk out with emails and documents that are ready to send, not rough drafts to fix.
Learn to stay in control: choosing the right model, safety basics, and confidence to keep using it after tonight.

You'll Walk Out With

A practical Claude Code assistant setup you can keep building on.
More confidence using AI for real work.
Emails and documents that are closer to ready-to-send, not rough drafts you still need to rescue.

Who This Is For

Working professionals who want to save time on emails and documents.
Freelancers and consultants who want sharper writing workflows.
Founders and small business owners who want practical AI confidence.
Uni students and early-career professionals who want workplace-ready AI skills.
Anyone who's curious and wants a clear starting point with Claude.
You do not need to be technical. Claude Code is the tool, but the real skill is learning how to think, write and work with AI.

AI Project Hub

Western Sydney Startup Hub - Spacecubed, North Parramatta, Australia · Western Sydney Tech Innovators
In person

Welcome to WSTI's AI Project Hub—the hands-on heart of the WSTI community's AI Shed model. This isn't a traditional class or a lecture. It’s a weekly, drop-in "Shed" designed for collaborative, project-based learning, where we support each other turning ideas (beginner or ambitious) into real, working prototypes and projects. Whether you're a founder with a specific problem, a developer testing a new tool, or a complete beginner curious about what you can make, this is your space to build, learn, and collaborate. What to expect: Quick Pitch: To spark some inspiration, we’ll have a few informal, low-pressure "progress check-ins" where attendees can briefly share what they’re working on. Space to Build: No formal lectures here. Just a supportive environment to polish your prototype, refine your code, or finalise your pitch. Guides on the Side: Our technical mentors will be mingling in the room. They’re ready to offer a helpful nudge, architectural advice, or a tool recommendation if you hit a roadblock. Community Wisdom: If our mentors don’t have the answer, they’ll connect you with someone else in the room who does. We’re all about sharing what we learn. Curiosity is Welcome: You don’t need a hackathon project to pull up a chair. If you’re a regular from our Project Hub looking to share your knowledge, or just a curious neighbour. We have community laptops with access to some AI tools if you aren't able to bring your own. Tools/Topics discussed may include: ChatGPT, Claude, Google Gemini, Opensource AI Models. Platforms like n8n and other automation tools. Coding vibe coding like Lovable, Replit, Antigravity and Cursor. Frameworks such as BMAD. Image and video generators like Midjourney, Nanobanana and Video models such as Kling, Veo & Seedance. By attending this event, you consent that you may be photographed and recorded on video. These photos and videos may be used for marketing and promotional purposes in the future. If you have any concerns please
