Brand identity | Voice, Values and Brand |

State Library of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia
In person

Your brand is a bit like a house. Voice, values and visual identity are the foundation, the frame and the paint job, and if the foundation is off, everything you build on top of it will wobble. This workshop is about getting that foundation right. Jess combines strategic marketing expertise with a genuine appreciation for the creative process, helping makers define their values, find their voice and build brands that connect with the right audience. Together we'll dig past the usual "quality" and "handmade" language to find what's actually driving your work, then use that to shape how you sound and how you present yourself, both online and in person. You'll compare tone samples to find your natural fit, work through the building blocks of a recognisable brand (colour, materials, imagery, language) and finish with a one line brand statement you can reuse anywhere. Once you're clear on who you are, our next session turns that identity into content for your socials. About Jess Jess is Senior Marketing Manager for APAC at Constant Contact, where she regularly delivers workshops and educational sessions for small business owners across Australia, covering marketing strategy, branding, social media, email marketing, AI and business growth. Outside her marketing career, she's a maker herself, with a love of art, silversmithing and design. Who Should Attend? Makers at any career stage who are building or refining their practice's public identity. No prior branding or marketing experience needed, just come ready to talk about your work. What's Included? A working session with guided exercises, a values word bank, a tone and voice sample sheet, and a worksheet to help you draft your own one line brand statement. You'll leave with the beginnings of a brand statement you can use straight away. What Should I Bring & Wear? Note pad or laptop, bring one object from your practice that means something to you, you'll be using it in the opening exercise. Casual, comfortable clothi
